Works with Linux
I bought this to try to reprogram my apartment’s laundry card to was for free. I wasn’t able to do that, but the reader seems to work well. I am just not hacker enough I guess.

Reads biometric ID cards (and passports) without any problems.
Successfully tested with Israeli and Turkish ID cards, it works without a glitch.

damage a short time
beginig this device work to NXP SAM modules that I am using in a personal project. But around only one month of use it, it does damage, not detect module SAM. I am very dissapoinment with the quality of this device, I am not sure if is only my device or is a general defect model.

Works
Needed keycard reader to start telework from home. Easy to use, simply plugged into laptop's docking station and placed my PIV card inside it. Windows did the rest and then I was good to go.

Must Reconnect Often
I use two CAC readers since I'm a civilian and a reservist, so I bought two of these hoping I could try them out and them mount them together somewhere. Well, after about 30-45 minutes of use, if I'm trying to authenticate on a website, I may have to pull the USB cord out of the computer and put it back in for it to be able to read the card. Not cool. These are card readers and should read the cards. I shouldn't have to remove the cords and put them back in again. I'm not talking removing the cards and replacing them - that does not do it. I have to unplug the USB cord and plug them back in. Again, not cool.
