Sweet Sensations!
How sweet it is! I never had mulberries before and was not sure what to expect. After reading the reviews which ranged from excellent to awful I still wasn't sure what to expect. Some reviewers described the flavor as a cross between a fig and a raisin which I found to very accurate with the addition of being much sweeter. My plan was to replace the raisins in my morning oatmeal with these mulberries in order to reap the "superfood" benefits.. This morning I added a few berries along with the raisins and dried cranberries and this is what I found: 1. The berries are the same color as the oatmeal so it is difficult to know how many berries, if any, are about to make an appearance on your tastebuds. No berries.....disappointing, too many berries...OOOOOh, sweet as candy. This can be a little unsettling at 6am.. 2. Submerged in the same bowl of oatmeal, the berries are about 3x sweeter than the raisins. I thought the tartness of the dried cranberries would balance the incredible sweetness of the mulberries....not so. The mulberries are yummy and a few mixed in the oatmeal along with the usual amount of raisins and walnuts makes for a sweet variation in a few bites, very enjoyable. The berries do have numerous miniscule seeds in each berry, somewhat like a raspberry but with only about half the number of seeds per berry. This adds a subtle crunch that I like. I do like these berries but will use them as a sweet snack (maybe in place of candy/cookies?), not as a replacement for the raisins in my oatmeal. This evening I made a snack mix of mulberries, almonds, coconut flakes, and cocoa nibs...VERY good. Some reviewers complained about "stems and non edible parts" mixed in with the berries. There are stems, very tiny 2-4mm , and very soft/pliable, not hard or stick-like. I ate them along with the berries :)

These mulberries are yummylicious
This was my first purchase of 2 bags of white mulberries which I decided to order from Terrasoul since it had the best price. I was dying to try them out after having tasted fresh, red ones in Africa during my travels. After opening the first package which was lined with foil to preserve freshness, the quality appeared to be good. I enjoyed eating them with a sliver of organic, raw, grass-fed cheddar and am hoping to use them in homemade granola and larabars. Unlike other dried fruit that come close in taste, these superfood treats didn’t spike my blood glucose levels. Although I am not diabetic, I have to watch my sugar intake as a two-time cancer survivor. An ounce of the mulberries has 12 gm of sugar which amounts to less than 5 gm of sugar in raisins. After reading the reviews of those with negative experiences, I decided to check the entire content of both bags to see whether the bulk of fruit was intact, clean and did not taste moldy. A random handful was sampled and happily, the mulberries appeared to be mostly whole despite the shipping and handling. There very few crumbs, no twigs, nor dirt.

Not bad, worth a try
Frankly, I tried these while looking for something to break the $35 boundary. However, I was also interested in seeing what mulberries tasted like because I had considered planting some mulberries under a big cedar tree we have. I had heard that they weren't all that tasty, rather blah, but that they were nutritious, etc. So, I bought these. Now that I've tried them, I understand a bit better. They definitely don't have the same kind of sweet flavor explosion as most dried fruit, and much less than raisins. However, they are pleasant to eat. I would perhaps compare the flavor and mouthfeel to dried figs, but much less sweet. I'm putting them in my cereal and that works well. They would also be good in trail mix, or just eaten alone. Probably fairly low glycemic based on the taste, but of course you don't really know about that without doing blood glucose testing.

Delicious, Nutritious & Did I Say Delicious? My New Snack Obsession!
For the last few months I've been on a mission to quit eating so much processed food. Even some of the "healthy" stuff is over-processed and not really that healthy (or at all good for us). I stumbled across Mulberries in a combo pack of goodies from TJ and was smitten! Of course, I turned to Amazon to find a way to have them come to my door. Winter is coming, after all. My initial arrived and they were everything I had hoped. Tasty, easy, well-packaged and actually IS good for us! I immediately added them to my subscription, so I can relax knowing my new healthy, yummy treat will be delivered to me in style!

Your body outbreak isn’t hallucinations; it’s the mulberries!
It took me two visits to the Emergency Room and over three weeks to finally realize that the mulberries were the culprit behind my severe itching, hives, redness, swelling, constant skin scratching, and inability to sleep. Before that, I had to wash all my clothes three times with hypoallergenic detergent, but it didn’t provide any relief. I even bought new sets of underwear, shirts, and pants, and completely replaced my bedsheets and comforter. I became so worried that I eventually switched to an airbed because I thought everything was contaminated. During my second ER visit, the doctor said, “We can only give you the same medication because this looks like an allergic reaction” (I had blood drooling from my arms and back from severe scratching). However, I remembered the doctor had kept asking if I had recently changed my diet. I kept saying “no” because it didn’t occur to me that the mulberry was food. When I got home, I was about to eat the mulberry again when it hit me that I had been eating this snack every day for the last three weeks. That night, I decided to put it down and eat something else. Within two days, I was getting better, and after a week of no itch, I continued taking the medication because I was afraid the severe itch would return. Two weeks later, the sight of the remaining bags gave me an instant flashback. Although I struggled to understand how a fruit could cause such severe body outbreaks, I dare not eat another mulberry in my life.

I’ve purchased these mulberries multiple times from Terrasoul and they’ve consistently been excellent quality. I eat them by the handful and also enjoy them as a salad topper.
