great product. does the job

I bought this Moen stainless grab bar when my mother suffered an injury that made it dangerous for her to get in and out of the shower without support. She wanted something that was not only sturdy but also attractive, and I settled on this one in part because of Moen's reputation. Installation is easy, especially if you can attach it to studs on both ends; if you can't, then you'll have to purchase the secure mounts separately, one for each end that isn't attached to a stud. The 36" length allows her to not only step out of the shower but also to be supported for another step forward. And when her injury heals, it can be used as a towel bar, albeit an extra thick one. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Needed a safety grab bar to put out at step son's house for his stairway up to his porch. This was a perfect fit, been in place for about 3 months now and works for us when we visit. Quite sturdy, was easy to install. Out in the weather and holding up well.

Got the 4 ft. bar to mount horizontal in our Bathroom from the door (open) to the toilet. Quality unit with multiple mounting points so you can for sure get at least two screws in the stud. I have three screws into the stud on each end. Very secure, which is the whole point of the bar. Looks good too.

Does it job

The bar itself is excellent, the screws leave much to be desired. They are beautiful to behold but don't engage in a #2 Phillips screwdriver worth a hoot! It dosn't matter what they look like because you won't see them anyway. If you are installing this between two studs ( recommended) throw the screws away and use decking screws or something similar about 2 1/2" long. I used 4 of the original screws because I didn't want to stop and go to the hardware store. The instructions recommend a 1/8" pilot hole but I used 3/8" and had a very though time getting them in with a power driver. If you are not mounting against the studs, only drywall, you will need the (extra cost) adapters. Studs are usually on 16" centers. Find them before you order so you will know if you need the adapters.

Exactly what I needed to make getting in or out of the tub/shower safely. I had it installed by a professional contractor.

Use a good tile drill bit. It is slightly easier if you chip a small amount of tile with a punch. This helps keep the drill bit where you want the hole. Also cool the drill bit with water as you drill through the tile. I used a spray bottle. This helps preserve the bit.

I bought all my fixtures from amazon. It was a bit cheaper than local and came right to my door. My contractor installed them according to ADA specifications.

This Moen grab bar was perfect length for my Dad’s shower stall. He is not as able on his feet anymore so we put this nice long grab bar in his shower and he loves he. We also installed the Moen shower head that has an integrated grab bar as well so he has two places to hang on to when he is showering.

These are great to assist getting down the halls without falling. These ones are nice and long and good quality. In bathroom, they hold bath towels decoratively, to dry, after supporting me well while in the shower. I have these in many places in my home. Polished finish will go well with pale grey repainted walls.
