bought this along with the distributor after my petronix system gave out this thing is amazing no issues fires up every time! i recommend routing it somewhere that has good cold air flow get a little warm

Been rebuilding a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3 Vortec. The truck is rust free and it has a been a learning curve working on computer driven engine. My background, 1960, 70, 80 and some 90 vehicles. Back in the eighties my boss started using MSDs. I never, it being electrical and all, got into MSDs and the need for them not understanding what their function was. Fast forward, the issue this truck was having was cold start. I needed to crank it over quite a bit, not happy, to get it to turn over. In my research to find a cure, yes scan tool in hand, started with a new coil. I went with MSD coil and in their installation instructions it went over on how to also install their MSD box. With the added wire loom, a bit costly for what you get, it was plug and play. Your ICM, ignition control module, you don’t touch. This is nice, for if ever the MSD acts up, just plug it back as it was. It made a believer out of me when with ten-degree weather on the first crank it came to life. So yes, it solved my issue, and I would recommend it.

Good upgrade from the old system

I like the improved harness and no more need to install the rev limiter “chips” that my old unit used.

This MSD box cured my electrical problems on my street rod.

Not installed yet but build quality, mounting and connectors will make for an easy installation.

Fast delivery. The price is right on Amazon. However. MSD is not built like it use to be (but what is)? I went through 2 of these in 3 years. The old 15 year MSD's seem to last longer. Dean B.
