How To Crochet: A Complete Guide for Absolute Beginners

I have looked at multiple beginner crochet books, including Michael's. This book is the easiest and most complete and at a respectable price. Great pictures, easy step by step instructions, variety of stitches, multiple patterns, explanation of yarns and needles, and breakdown of terminology. Highly recommend for teens to adults. If you are looking for just one book to get started to see if you like crocheting without a huge investment this is the book to get. If you are looking to expand or refresh your knowledge, I recommend this book as well.

Short instructions! The basics are created in a " true", beginner'level. I have to read, begin crocheting, and constantly referring back to the beginning. I love that I am given the option to be able to reference back, to the beginning; otherwise, I would never be able to complete a project. Thank you.

I loved this book! It was great because it shows you all the stitches step by step and a couple tricks (like how to reduce and add in rows). It really helped me be able to read patterns. I would say though that I didn't enjoy the patterns in the back. The only one I was interested in (the baby's hat) is just two rectangles sewn together..not very cute :)

I liked the easy instructions on following how to crochet , I especially loved the colorful pictures which was easy to see and follow. I would recommend this book to a beginner crocheter like me!

It appears to be a nicely written book on learning to crochet. That said, imagine my surprise when I found a translation between both the U.S. and British codes for types of stitches, listed on page 43. Seems almost like an afterthought.

I actually packed this book at my job at Amazon and could not wait to order my own copy! It is very easy to understand, the photos are very clear and yes, it is for beginners like myself. I got frustrated trying to learn online and this will definitely be a very easy way to learn how to crochet.

Excellent beginner’s guide! I’m a complete crochet novice so I loved the clear and easy to follow illustrations which were so easy to follow. It turns out that crochet is way easier than I had imagined and I have already made my first project. Some really lovely things to make in the book, so can’t wait to work my way through more projects and try some other stitch styles. Highly recommended, and a great price too.

Self taught myself crocet with this book. I still am a beginner but have finished a few projects, it is very easy to learn with good visuals! I still use it as a reference.

This book was easy to understand. I learnt how to crochet about 30+ years ago and this book was a great as it gave step by step instructions.
