ROBUD Large Hamster Cage Gerbil Haven Habitat Small Animal Cage (Blue)

My daughters friend had to get rid of her hamster in order to live on campus at the university. Poor little hamster had been living in a cardboard box for a couple of weeks. So this cage fit the need for our Robo. The wheel works well. Seems like the quality of the cage overall is good. My daughter assembled most of it - I’d say the instructions were not that great - a little more detail would be useful - but she figured it out. I saw some negative reviews but it seems good to me for the $.

Within 24 hours my hamster chewed up the wheel. It looks adorable in the pictures, but the material used is a foam which breaks off easily or can easily be torn off by the hamster. Every day I find a new peace of the gates or house roof chewed up. All this after only 2 weeks of use.

Got this for my elderly rat, we wanted to get him something that still gave him space to move around (we don’t use the house or the wheel, but they are nice to have in case we want to take the ledge out) but it was less likely that he could possibly hurt himself. He really seems to love it, he does climb the cage, and has been able to chew on the ledge and ramp, but otherwise seems very happy with it. I do want to mention the food bowl and water drip that come with it are very small, I use my own ceramic bowl for his food and I fill the small drip several times a day, but otherwise it is very good for our uses.

My 6 Male Button quail seemed to really enjoy the teeter totter. When I'm Cleaning their cage, they will go in here. It was so entertaining to watch them. My experience buying this cage. Came the next day after ordering. Arrived undamaged. Wire on cage is flimsy, bends to easily. I had to use needle nose pliers to pinch down the wires that were not bent enough, could be dangerous for animals. Platform is supplied with bolts and wing nuts. Only 2 of the wing nuts were usable. The tiny fences, house, teeter totter and platform are made of a weird balsa wood /foam? While putting together one of the fences pegs that go into the platform broke, though I tried to be so careful. My birds didn't seem to mind. I really don't know why they sell plastic, wood, foam items to pet owners with pets that chew. My quail don't chew things up. Again this isn't permanent housing, just a place to put them when I'm cleaning their cage. For me it works and is quite entertaining for me and them. Well July 2025 Platforms unusable- they never came clean, so threw them away. fences just broke. It was fun why it lasted. Still use when I clean their large cage.

Do not waste your money on this cage. It is so poorly and cheaply made, I had a couple of pieces break just putting it together. It falls apart easily if bumped. If you love your pet as much as I love mine, you won't want to put it in this cage!!

This cage was super easy to put together including the little house and wheel and accessories that go inside. Super durable and cute

Super cute, but hamsters definitely like to chew on the foam/wood parts.

Like the layout, size, does make my mouse happy. Assembly instructions backwards. After getting it together as instructed, because of going step by step, realized that it was backards. The shelf ended up in front of the door opening. Had to dis-assemble, turn parts around. The back piece should have been attached to the sides instead of front. When turning it around, the connections were not only difficult to assemble, but then didn't really fit into the base correctly. Using some sort of small clips to attach them together would have been better. Wheel connected together with plastic parts, with use, it keeps coming apart. (other companies put a metal screw in there) Material absorbs male mouse odor, so it stinks even after very thorough cleaning. Good thing has lots of room and hiding places for my little guy.

The cage itself is great, one piece of the platform arrived broken. The pieces are a dense foam, so you need to be careful you don’t ‘squish’ the male end that fit into the holes to assemble. Otherwise my daughter quite likes the cage, pieces and fun colors.

The wheel does not spin freely enough for the hamster to use it. The interior pieces are made of foam and the hamster just chewed through them.

Absolutely horrible, I want a refund. Within four days, the hamster ate everything in the cage. Who would design a product with edible structures, all the platforms, the house, the wheel, the ladder, all eaten.

This product literally falls apart as you’re trying to put it together. It’s made with such cheap material that it should cost $20 instead of almost $100. Then they wanna charge $20 to return it back to them. Avoid this cage at all costs

Most of the pieces were broken and or didn't line up with corresponding pieces. Save your money
