Good product
Good product - there’s a mild sweetness to it. Used for hot cacao drink in milk.

Great value & oh-so-tasty chocolate swap for low-acid diets
Such a great product! I've recently switched to carob from chocolate due to heartburn issues, and this product has been so user-friendly for someone new to the ingredient. I use this every single day in smoothies! It's milled to a fine powder with a texture almost indiscernible from cocoa/cacao powder, making it a perfect 1:1 replacement for those looking to swap out chocolate in their baking recipes. Amazing taste - best described as a slightly sweet, less bitter version of cacao powder - and blends easily and dissolves as expected; a little will cling and clump just like regular cocoa powder. Unbeatable value, since the entire bag is only about $7 and it lasted me almost 6 weeks. And it's Organic, which gives you some peace of mind in terms of product quality. Try using this in low-acid recipes, or for kid's desserts if you don't want them bouncing off the walls (since cacao has natural amounts of caffeine), or if you simply want some extra fiber and luxurious flavor. Odds are most people wouldn't be able to tell it isn't chocolate :)

This Stuff NEEDS To Go VIRAL 24/7!! Cacao/Cocoa Substitute + NO Caffeine Or Theobromine!
Avoiding caffeine and, sadly, chocolate is not easy! The theobromine in cacao gives me low blood pressure and moodiness. I also run on the dry side, so caffeine doesn't always agree with me either. Enter the world of organic, toasted CAROB powder! One ingredient, minimally processed. This product doesn't contain fillers, preservatives, or "GRAS" chemicals that can interfere with hormones, medications, or metabolisms. The texture is very easy to work with. Skip the nasty added sugar! No additional sugar is needed when making dark carob "chocolate!" Carob is naturally slightly sweet. For frosting or "hot chocolate," try adding powdered allulose for a sweetness bump while maintaining carob powder's smooth texture. Mess around with this! Mix a little bit of organic coconut oil or ghee, a drizzle of non-dairy milk, and this carob powder together over low heat for a delicious mousse to spread over crepes, toast, cupcakes, etc. for a decadent dark chocolate flavor. Pour into cupcake liners and chill for homemade chocolates or peanut butter cups. *Note carob's iron content. Good organic, vegan iron source!

Tasty but not chocolate
It was tasty considering it's not chocolate. It will take some getting used to, but no caffeine and less carbs and sugar.

It can't replace chocolate BUT...
I bought this for probably the same reason a lot of people did: we had to give up chocolate and wanted something to replace it. I dont think this tastes like chocolate at all, but I do see why people recommend this as a replacement. It's like chocolate's much more mature, earthy cousin. However, I've been using it more as a coffee replacer? Listen, I don't like straight black coffee and I never have. But I do like frappaccinos, coffee ice cream, and really anything that has a HINT of coffee flavor. The problem is, my GI system cannot handle any quantity of coffee anymore. I've tried the cream frapps at Starbucks, and they just aren't the same. They're missing the balance of the coffee. They're missing the roundness and fullness that coffee brings to the sweetness of the drink. And while I havent been able to replicate starbucks at home, I will say that carob is PERFECT for adding that roundness that's missing from a lot of the things I can drink these days. I like to make mock lattes out of almond milk, spices like cinnamon and ginger, sometimes vanilla or caramel, and maple syrup for sweetness (and a bit of flavor). However, even these drinks I felt were lacking something. I have drank full carob drinks (basically a bunch of carob as if it was hot chocolate), and I didnt love it. But one day I decided to add just a little carob to my mock latte, perhaps 1/2 a teaspoon. And this is it! THIS was the balance I had been missing! Now, I really love adding carob to any drink that feels like it's missing a little something. Does it taste exactly like coffee? No, of course not. But it does provide the same balance/roundness that has been missing from my drinks. I sometimes even throw it into some starbucks creme frapps just to see. The pumpkin spice cream frapp was HORRIBLE -- the carob helped but couldnt save it because it just tasted too artificial. Still, carob is great for a lot of these other balancing acts and I'm so glad that I gave it a try. This is a pretty big pouch so I haven't run out of it yet since I don't use it that often (and it's probably been a year... maybe i should check the expiration xD), but I'll definitely be repurchasing it when I do.
