Good product at this price point
These are my initial impressions of the set. I'll start off with the thread shears. They have an overall length of just under 12.7cm, the cutting edges are approximately 4cm long. I have only used them on three different types of thread so far, but they worked very well on all three. Types of thread were, polyester Coats Moon, Bonded Polyester Serabond 40 / V69 (both for machine sewing) and 0.8mm Ritza Tiger Thread (waxed braided polyester) for handsewing in leathercraft. On all three they have left good clean edges that make threading a needle so much easier without a needle threader. The main 9" shears are nice, they remind me of sets I saw when I was a child ( a long time ago now). The handles are reasonably comfortable in my male sized 8/9 hands, with the handles being lightly rubberised / coated. Their construction appears to be pretty solid and the ability to tighten them up as they're sharpened is a very nice addition. They are oiled when you get them so you will want to remove the oil before use, however after that they cut 4oz PU coated polyester as cleanly as they did with the Coated 600D that they were bought for. They also appear to cut along the full length of the blades (Tip to Pivot). So my initial impressions of them are good. They are carbon steel so they will take a bit of care, however carbon steel is easier to sharpen than stainless. After use they will require a thin coat of a good quality oil to best maintain them, in my case I have a number which would fit the bill perfectly well (sewing machine oil, rifle oil or oil for hair clippers). I was brought up with Fiskars scissors being used for this type of thing as a child, but these are proof that you don't need to pay for a "Thorougbred" especially when you are starting out. These are good scissors for "Old Hands" and "Newbies" alike, they may not have the name, but they are showing their performance to be good, at least to start off with and I will be more than happy to keep on going with them.

Super Sharp Sewing Scissor Set ~ Quality
These scissors are amazing. Very sharp and excellent for cutting material or the like for the sewing world. They do arrive with a covering of oil which is easy to wipe off. They are weighty and feel like they will last a very long time. I am sure you could easily sharpen them if/when needed. Quality scissors, weighty, precise, sharp. Easy to use. Fits in hand very well even for a tiny, girly hand. There is also a pair of the cotton snipping type scissor with them which is great if you use a sewing machine a lot and always needing to snip the cotton thread, quickly. They arrive in a decent box so you can keep them nice and safely. Ive not seen scissors of this weight and quality for very many years. I think I may purchase another set for the kitchen and other bits and bobs. Want to keep this set just for my sewing kit. Why cant we make quality goods in this country anymore?

Really good quality
These are the 2nd pair bought, this time as a present. They are great scissors. Really good value. Had my pair a couple of years at least. Made curtains, shortened jeans, etc. Super sharp. The little scissors are equally good and great for opening seams, etc. Cannot fault.

Very Impressed
Over the moon with my purchase! These scissors are carbon steel so quite a bit of weight to them which is why I have taken a star on comfort off. They are oiled which is necessary as carbon steel can rust so wipe off the oil before use and wipe a tiny amount on the blades she finished. These should last a life time like all carbon steel products (why I bought them). They are absolutely stunning to look at though I have noticed some very minor imperfections like some scratches. Nothing too serious or enough to make me drop a star. They also came in a lovely box so could be gifted. I have made a couple of projects with them already, I made everything very small so I could see how well they do details and I wasn't disappointed. Quality and sharp. Because of their weight though I think it may be possible your hand or wrist could get a bit tired so i dropped a star in comfort. I didn't expierence this but my projects didn't take long. The thread clippers a're also very well made, the blades are carbon steel too so require the same treatment with oil after use. They are very sharp and I used them to cut little noticed in my fabric nice and quickly. They give a nice clean edge to my embroidery and sewing threads making them easier to thread through a needle. Overall I'm pleased as punch and feel like I robbed someone considering how cheap they were. If I have any problems down the line I'll add it to my review. If there are no edits months down the line then I found no issues.

sharp scissors
Overall pleased. they are very sharp which is great but there is a slight catch to them sometimes which has caused a couple snags (I assume there is a slight imperfection on the shaft of one of the blades). they are heavy but I don't find this prohibitive. The little snips that come with them are really good and sharp. Overall good value for money

Good quality
Really good price and far better quality than the ones I bought in the shops which were plastic handles. Very impressed and I would buy again but I don't think I will need to as I don't see them ever breaking.
