Unique and beautiful. Not for beginners.
This yarn is absolutely beautiful! It’s bright and colorful. I agree with another reviewer that this isn’t for inexperienced crocheters. It has no stretch, tends to twist when working with it, and isn’t a consistent thickness, although it’s close. Pay attention to recommended hook size. I started with an h. Larger might be better. On a small practice piece I was unable to frog it, so take your time and do it right the first time. There is the occasional knot, which only adds to the handmade, recycled quality. For the people who complain that they only received one ball… learn to read descriptions. It’s not the seller’s fault, besides, it’s not the number of balls but the length that matters. If you want to make a truly unique, beautiful project, this yarn is great and has a story to tell. Yes, it’s expensive, but I’ve paid more for fine wool. I will certainly purchase more of this yarn.

Poor Quality, Doesn't Match Picture
Very poorly spun. It constantly pulled apart. It also looked nothing like the photo. It was made of several long sections of a single color each knotted together. There as no color variegation at all. It also had long sections that seemed to just be cotton twine with little or no silk. It was difficult to work with and constantly tangled.

This is the worst yarn I’ve ever tried to crochet with.
I loved the idea of this yarn. The fact that it was made from recycled fabric was a real plus. I liked the idea of the random colors. I was really hoping I could make a garment from this type of yarn. I decided to buy one skein to try it out before buying more. I am an experienced crocheter. I have been crocheting since 1968, and I crochet almost every day. I have made many items including hundreds of hats. When I received the yarn I decided to make a simple hat. I quit after 8 rows. I had to cut out unacceptable pieces of yarn four different times. The yarn was stiff and rough. Silk should be soft and flexible. The thickness of the yarn varied from a worsted weight to the thinness of sewing thread. There were many knots in the yarn. At one point there were two knots four inches apart. That is unacceptable, and I was having to cut out almost as much yarn as I was able to use. The texture of the yarn also varied greatly. Parts of it was fuzzy, other parts were slick and shiny. Either one would be fine, but the different textures were always joined badly. There were also big lumps of the fuzzy yarn several times. I definitely won’t be buying this yarn again, and I don’t recommend anyone else buy it either.

Bright color but frayed too easily
I wanted to use the yarn to weave bracelets but unfortunately the yarn pieces were too short and frayed too easily for that purpose. The colors are bright and as pictured. Did not measure the length but i received one roll.

A Perfect Accent
This gets 4.5 stars for being a great addition to a secondary yarn, even though it was a bit tough to work with. I twisted it with another skein to make a handle for a bag; the silk fibers don't stretch, so it got tangled up in itself once in a while, but it was worth it, the handle came out great. I bought two more skeins to do a second project. It's definitely closer to a thread than a yarn as far as width, though, so while it was a great accent to the yarn I was already using, I'm not sure how well it would work on its own. The colors are brilliant, bright and bold, as to be expected. I'll add a picture asap.

Not great :(
I wanted so badly to like this yarn. However, it is disappointing, to say the least. Pros: •Claims to come from recycled material •Beautiful colors •Fair amount/volume for price especially if it is hand spun from recycled material Cons: •Horrible texture that snags on itself constantly •Completely unpredictable thickness throughout •Comes apart in the thinnest sections, has to be retied •Lots of knots and bulging spots •Frayed/‘hairy’ kind of material contributes to the snagging/catching/breaking •Rough feeling, cannot be used for a hat as planned, not without sewing in a layer of satin material on the interior, defeating the purpose of my original project idea :( …In fact, I gave up on making the hat because trying to use double strands (to compensate for inconsistencies) was one of the most maddening projects I’ve attempted. I don’t know what to do with this yarn now. :/ I wish I could recommend this, but I can’t. :(

Looks amazing in direct sunlight.
Looks great in real life. The colors are bright, especially in good light. Not for beginners, people in a rush, or perfectionists! ! ! I'm still on my first project. I'll post more pictures when it's done. I used an 8mm hook for the initial row of chain stitches. I'm using a 7mm hook for the rest. The yarn bends fine but it does not stretch even a little. So I have to leave a little more slack than normal in each stitch. Some places are a little fuzzy, but it's not as hard to use as most fuzzy yarn. I'm just really careful as I'm pulling through. I feel bad if I hear even a single thread break. It's absolutely fun! I usually have a small crochet project next to my computer, and this ball is so decorative.
