The pictures showing blue and smooth seem to be reversed. Which do I specify to get the thin ribs on the ball outside?

I got blue smooth and it has the ribs. I will caution you that the rubber is very thick and hard to squeeze compared to others I have got from Walgreens.

Does anyone have a link as to how best employ this product in cleaning out the ear?

I don't have a link, but it's best to use Debrox drops first, to soften the wax for about 10 minutes, then fill the bulb completely full of warmish water, for the best pressure, place at the entrance to the ear canal, lean over a sink to catch the water and wax, and squeeze pretty hard. The water from the bulb will flush in and out of your ear (loudly), and if you get the wax clump out the first time, you're done. If not, repeat filling the bulb and squeeze again. Or try another day with the Debrox first, and then the rest.

Do you suck out the wax

No you use warm water and squeeze out the water you suck up into the bulb. It works well. I keep the drain closed in the sink when I do it so I can see what comes out. Ya just lean over the sink, stick it in your ear just a bit and squeeze the beegeebers out of it.

Quality, as advertised... Kinda. There is NO way this is 90ML. This is more of a 30-40 ml. Either way good purchase but not in any way 90ML which is a shame

Worked for cleaning lenses on VR headset

Large size, material has a grippy almost suede feel. I use these to blow dust off my VR headset lenses. I didn't test for suction b/c I obviously don't want any debris inside it, but I'm sure it's good as well because it's thick around the nozzle.

Both stronger and easier to use than anticipated

I use to clean my kid's nose. These are both thicker and more durable than expected, but also softer in the hand and easier to squish than the hospital grade one I was using before. The fact that they don't have two separate parts also makes them impossible to split at the seam, which is what inevitably happens after a few weeks. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it.
