I like these rods!
So, I have a bunch of these in different configurations and here's my take on them. The bent butts are absolutely as good as anything out there up to prob $600. Yes the guides could be better but for the price I'm not complaining. I haven't had any failures. If I was designing these rods, I would have made them all the same size so people could interchange Butts, you cant. The bent butts are #4 but the straight butts are some proprietary size and don't interchange with anything else. Also, I feel like the butts on the straight butt rods are too short, the reel is too close to the gunnel when it's in the rod holder. I would further liked to have had an option for a longer rod section in the bent butt 50/80 as well as a 30/50 7foot bent butt rod. All that being said, what you get for your money here is a phenomenal deal. Just wishing for some more standard fitments and some longer lengths. That being said, I have 8 of these so I am liking them... Oh and I feel the rods are on the stiffer side of the rating....
