Great cable for transferring data from SATA hard drives without requiring a case or internal wiring. I use this tool to copy data for friends before secure erasing drives before recycling. This cable works seamlessly with Windows 10 and 11.

As noted in the title and specifically written in the instructions, this only works for 2.5" drives. It will not work for 3.5" (or larger) drives.

SATA to USB adapter. Works fine, no issues.

Tried using this SATA to USB-C cable with both a Samsung 850 EVO and a Samsung 840. Neither worked with this cable. Plugging it into the USB-C port on the computer caused all other USB devices to power off as if it's shorting out, and caused Windows File Explorer to lock up until I disconnected this cable. What's bizarre is I put a USB-C to USB-A adapter on the USB-C end of this cable and it worked fine.

Tested it with an old Samsung 840 PRO 128GB SSD and was pleased with the read speeds: $ pv < /dev/sdx > /dev/null 119GiB 0:03:44 [ 543MiB/s] hdparm does seem to work and reports what you'd expect. It reports TRIM is supported, but I wasn't able to get blkdiscard to wrok: $ blkdiscard /dev/sdx blkdiscard: /dev/sdx: BLKDISCARD ioctl failed: Operation not supported sysfs reports no discard (reading discard_max_bytes returns 0) This drive is old and busted so YMMV if using a newer disk.

I lost one this one replaced and upgraded. Worked as expected.

I have a few SSD drives (250GB or 500GB) from my old computers, but only one USB3 SATA case. Of course I can put each drive in its own case, but I prefer something that serves all and allows me to easily switch drive. This cable fits my requirements very well. And its performance is also excellent, based on my comparison tests between the cable and my pervious USB3 SATA case. Much cheaper than the Atomos brand docking station.

Premium build quality, fast, perfect length. In my case the bottleneck was my SATA SSD's read/write speed at ~500mbs, so can't say what is the speed limit of this cable.

I bought two, one was faulty and disconnected easily and disappeared. I threw it into the bin. The second one works fine. Never had any problem with it.

A good quality SATA adapter that works well with a Mac. Transfer speeds seem as fast as would be expected. This is very convent for connecting drives from an Atomos video recorder and much cheaper than the official dock. The item was well packaged and the lead is a good length if you have your computer or dock placed on the desk. It would be too short for directly connecting to a desktop.
