I'm looking for a Cross gel rolling ball .7mm 0809 in black - can't find it. What can I use?

The 0809 is only the production date. Cross makes 2 different style rollerball refills. They make this one and a slim version for their new lines. If your current refill you are talking about measures 4 1/2 inches long, this is what you want to order. The "slim" rollerball refill measures 4 inches long. I hope this helps !!

Does this work for the Cross Edge Capless Gel Ink Pen?

I have a Cross Edge Capless Gel Ink Pen and this refill works very well and is durable. Ink flow is very good and the resulting images exceptional. This is a great pen and this refill works well.

You say you need a refill for the Slim Gel "click" pen. In your question, the key word is "Slim." You want the 8910-2 (Blue) or 8910-1 (Black) refill for your click pen. This 8523-2 refill is for the Selectip pens, not the "click" pen. The length of the Slim and Selectip refills are different and not interchangeable! Note that the #0413 you mention is not a model number, it's the mm/yy date the refill was manufactured. Cross definitely doesn't make obtaining the correct refill an easy task!
