Best get one
Need to purchase all 3 bits of the lower arm. 1, main arm. 2, spinner socket. 3, short spinner arm. Probably worth getting the top arm at the same time. A poor fitting socket doesn't work well so best get one.

Highly recommended and value for money.
The rotating spray head in my dishwasher kept falling off, sometimes jamming the main arm so that nothing was properly cleaned. I used this item to replace the old connector and it's been fine ever since. Highly recommended and value for money.

Might need modification to fit
Smeg appear to have changed the moulding which has resulted in the boss being higher than the original part meaning that a bit of filing down is required to enable the clips to connect properly and alow rotation of the spray arm.
