Worth every penny if you're visually impaired
I have macular degeneration and was having difficulty reading the various menu screens on an insulin pump and my smartphone. I had already upgraded my computer monitor to a very large 43"(running Windows 10 in high contrast mode) and I wanted a camera to put any device in front of it and enlarge it on my 43" screen. I compared various document cameras available and settled on this model, primarily because it had a standard HDMI high definition video output which would supply a signal directly to my monitor. It also has a USB output to use with a laptop. The first unit arrived and it would not power up. I sent it back and Amazon immediately replaced it within two days. The second unit worked flawlessly, and I think now that my problem with the first unit may have been operator error. The buttons on the vertical column are very easy to operate (auto focus, exposure dark to bright, digital zoom, image effects (high contrast video in various text and background color combinations; I don't use that) and a small LED next to the camera head which throws more than enough light onto printed materials for viewing and reading. The build quality is excellent. It's made of sturdy metal and the flexible design of the arm holding the camera is useful to put larger objects beneath the camera on the end of the arm. The base is extremely heavy and keeps the unit from moving when you need it to remain still. You'll need to provide your own USB power supply (a USB type A smartphone charger works fine) and your own HDMI cable to connect to your monitor. I usually leave it on all day and switch my computer monitor to it when I need to see something. For occasional travel I'm planning to take it with me and pair it with one of the 15.6" folding portable HD computer monitors which fold flat. Even the box it was packed in was high quality and can double as a carry case when you want to take it somewhere. All in all a very positive experience and one more thing for my bag of tricks to alleviate my vision issues.

Quality camera for a fair price!
Was looking for doc cameras to use in classrooms and this brand continued to show up on review lists. I ordered both this one and the VX-Z --- I think they are both great. The picture quality is clear. The camera head is super easy to manipulate and holds its position at all angles. The features are easy to access and use. The cameras are very easy to connect to the laptop via USB and the Visualizer program - and it is also very simple to connect to a projector via HDMI. (I did have trouble getting these cameras to connect to an Auking projector, so I reached out to customer service. They were GREAT. Very thorough and quick to help - they continued checking in with me until I got the problem fixed! I ended up going with a different brand of projector and the camera worked super easily! -- so, even though I was pleased with the Auking projector, don't use it with these Ipevo cameras. We ended up going with one from the Fangor store and the cameras worked exactly as described! Plug and play!!) Great price for a quality camera and I had GREAT experience with customer service.

Great alternative to high dollar assistive tech!
I'm writing this in case someone like me is looking for something like this. This review is for a rather niche audience: People with Visual Disabilities. I am visually impaired, and have always been. During my career, my employer always provided the best in assistive technology for me, including CCTVs, or Digital Magnifiers. Once I retired (not long ago), my employer of course reclaimed their equipment. Ok, I said, I'll just go and buy my own. Holy crap these Digital Magnifiers are expensive. Fellow blind folks know exactly what I'm talking about. $3000 + for an Optilec or similar, sometimes more. No way I could afford that. So, I decided to go a DIY route. Did a lot of research and reading, asking in forums and such. I started looking at Document Cameras. Found this one and bought it. It exceeded my expectations, to be honest. It can be a USB camera, in which case you'd just open up Windows Camera (or other platform equivalent), or it can be an input for any HDMI TV or Monitor. It has PHYSICAL, TACTILE buttons on the unit for Power, Zoom level, Brightness, Color Filters/Reverse Colors, Auto/manual focus and to turn on the helpful LED light. You know, all the things that a good CCTV should come with, except this is 1/10th of the price. So, yes, it works flawlessly and I even took it a step further, and installed Capture2Text so my PC will OCR whatever's on the camera, and then I can use CTRL+C in NVDA to have it read what it captured. The camera was super easy to set up. 2 screws to assemble the heavy, non-slip base, and then (in my case) plug in the USB-C to USB-1 into my PC. That's all. The camera has articulating arms and tilt adjustments, so you can have the camera at any position you would desire. So you can put a book under it, or a microwave pizza to read the directions. I could even read the inscription inside my wedding ring! So... Low Vision people.... Get this thing if you're in need of a DIY CCTV/CCD/Digital Magnifier solution. P.S. There's apparently software that goes with it, optionally. I have not yet downloaded the software yet, so I can't speak to that part of it. It's free, from the people who make this thing.

Works like a charm
This IPEVO document camera works like a charm. It's lightweight, portable and easy to use. It is truly plug and play. Also like the IPEVO Visualizer software that's one can easily download and is intuitive to use. Great design with good button placement. Good digital zoom, although i wish it came with optical zoom and not just digital. (But, alas nothing is perfect!) This is a great document camera though, I can use it in Court to display exhibits to a jury and will not have to worry about connectivity or compatibility issues at all. Intuitive to use, very portable and very reliable.

We bought it when it was reduced and the quality is very good when compared to other docment cameras we've used.

Very durable and high quality unit which improve WFH productivity. You can show documents with the 8k camera, use the camera for web calls, and use the microphone for web calls. I run daily project Zoom calls with this unit from Vancouver and remotely manage a team of 30 people in Toronto - works very well.
