PAC SNI-1 Noise Isolator, 1 Count

I used two of these in my 2001 Lexus ES300 (One for each rca channel). I upgraded the radio to a Kenwood without bypassing the amp and i was getting engine whine noise. I added these and the noise went away by about 90%. The engine whine was gone but a faint noise could still be heard. Overall it may help if you're doing an audio install on an older car and hear engine whine.

Thought I was doomed with my infinite ground loop. Tried all types of routing and rerouting on my Harley Road Glide radio and audio system. Tried this simple device out hoping for the best and voilà !!! groundloop magically gone completely!!! what took days to try and rid this device literally took seconds to solve the problem. I’m baffled. I’ll definitely keep one of these in hand for future audio hook ups.

Had an alternator whine in my audio system and could not for the life of me figure out where it was grabbing the signal from. I bought this and installed and the issue was immediately gone. This product works and is easily wired in and hidden. Excellent sound quality still coming through as no grainy noise was heard and it’s small lightweight allows it to be hidden easily. Would buy again if needed.

I purchased a small, 40w amplifier to drive the two rear 6x9" speakers, each in their own enclosure, in my '85 El Camino. The amp was mounted under the passenger seat, and I ran a 6' or 8' rca type phono cable from the Alpine AM/FM CD player's preamp outputs to the 40w amp, under the carpeting. The phono cable I used apparently was not very shielded- it was from my home stereo system so did not have to be. The rear amp worked fine and sounded great, until I started up the car and went for a test drive, where I was disappointed to hear squealing and popping coming for the rear speakers. The front speakers played fine like they always had. I did some more troubleshooting and determined that noise was most likely coming in via my unshielded phono cables, which I did not want to remove. I did some research and came across this noise isolator, and decided to give it a try as it was fairly inexpensive. The long and short of it was that it worked and I have a normal sounding stereo. I did have to connect the two wires to each other and then to ground. Also, the noise isolator needs to be mounted at the remote amplifier, not near the deck, which makes sense since the noise is coming through the phono cable. That being said, the rca connectors will not work without having some adapters to change the sex of the plugs/ jacks around, since they are reversed from what they need to be. That is why I did not give it 5 stars. I am guessing that most folks would have problems similar to what I did due to using poorly shielded phono (RCA) cables between the deck and the remote amp.

Silences engine noise

Audio ground noise can be a difficult thing to troubleshoot, especially when it's in a computer: is it the audio cable? A shielding problem? Hard drive noise? Stray fan interference? Sometimes the place where there's a bad ground can be hard to find. On the one hand, this product is sturdy, well built, and looks like it would do the trick. On the other hand, the PAC SNI-1 Noise Isolator didn't solve my problem...but I can't tell you whether that's a failing of this unit because I suspect the problem lies outside the loop where I could apply this device. So I'd like to share my experiences in the hopes that it would help anyone else trying to run down a ground issue. I had two computers, one with MAJOR problems with noise. The PAC SNI-1 Ground Loop Noise Isolator did nothing on the worst machine. On the other machine, it slightly reduced the noise. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near the success that other folks here have apparently experienced. Whether I turned the volume to low levels (less current = less noise?) or high (drown out noise with actual sound?), there was no difference--still only a slight containment of the problem. In both cases, I did try to use the optional grounding wire. Whether I applied it on the chassis or another source of bare metal, the effect was unchanged. Just the same, this product is well built, its construction is of good quality, and it is cheaper than other similar products. Since it apparently *can* solve some problems, I will just say, if it works, it'll probably work well for you. If it doesn't, your problem may run deeper than the PAC-SNI-1 Ground Loop Noise Isolator can handle.

Hatte übelstes Pfeifen in meinem Ducato Bus mit ordentlich Musik drin, hab das Teil direkt an den Audoradio angestöpselt und von dort aus in die Endstufe. Es ist endlich RUHE ......kein Pfeifen mehr, absolute Stille wenn die Musik auf Pause ist, kein Pfeifen mehr beim Gas geben. Die 2 braunen Masse Kabel hab ich nicht anschließen müssen. Bin sehr zufrieden !!

I use my laptop as my entertainment device. It is connected to a large screen and an old-school stereo system. There was a very very annoying buzz/hum noise in the audio which was most noticeable between song tracks and quiet parts of anything. This device completely eliminated that buzz/hum noise. Now I can't even tell if the stereo is switched on if there is no active input.

1. Excellent delivery- ordered Thursday received Monday! Kudos to seller to dispatch this ASAP 2. Works 100%- be sure to diagnose the issue first. I found that my head unit was giving a strange clicking noise when the engine was running in the front speakers but not rear. Put in the filter in between the head unit and amp and voila pure silence. No hiss no click nothing. In fact there used to be some strange clicks at times while driving even those have stopped. I recommend putting these in between your source and amps as it offers complete isolation and only the audio goes to the amp. Totally recommended.
