This is not just a mastectomy bra!
Although it does have "pockets" for breast forms, they don't bunch up and they're not uncomfortable - you don't even know that they are there. Menopause was not good for me - my boobs shrank and drooped and my ribcage got huge. I could barely fill out an A cup and couldn't find anything with a band larger than a 38 and mine is a 42! As many people have said, the band runs small and the cups run big, so I had to get a 44AA. I must have gone through about 20 other bras on Amazon until I found this. It's perfect! It fits, it's comfortable, and it's a great bra for T-shirts and thin materials

Quality prosthetic bra.
Cups are a bit large. However, designed to hold prosthetic .

Very uncomfortable seam in front, by the band
After wearing this for a full day, the seam under the cup was so uncomfortable, it left a red mark on my skin. The fit was good and I liked that the cups are removable. I tried wearing another time, for a short time, the seam was more uncomfortable and the band also was rubbing. I tried using a band extender, but the seam still bothered me. It had nothing to do with it being too tight. The seam is too big for a sensitive area and I have sensitive skin. I wish I tried this closer to the time I bought it because I am beyond the window to return this. I don’t recommend this style.

For my comfort, I feel this runs a bit small
It’s so difficult to find any bra that fits/feels comfortable, but especially a mastectomy bra during a pandemic! I took a chance on this one and am satisfied. I feel that the band runs small but the cup size is roomy. My usual size is 38C so that’s what I ordered the first time. There’s no room for error on the band - last set of hooks, for sure, and a little tight. The inserts slip around a bit but it’s okay. Reordered a 40B and it fits much better. The inserts stay put and I feel comfortable with the middle set of hooks. Good luck on your search for a well fitting bra. It’s a journey.

Very Comfortable Mastectomy Bra
Finally! Ten years after cancer surgery, I have at last found a comfortable pocketed bra. I chose the size based on the size chart measurements, and the bra band fits perfectly. A number of reviewers mention that the band is too tight for the size; people with sensitive and/or more recent surgical scars may prefer one band size higher. With silicone prosthetics, the bra stays in place instead of riding up across scars. The straps are not too wide and are well placed--they don't show in a moderate boat-neck T-shirt. The Amoena Mara is a full-coverage style: on the 36C bra, the vertical measurement is 4 inches at both the center front and the underarm. I don't wear lower cut necklines or sleeveless tops, so this style works well. Amoena offers other bra styles that might be better for different tops. On Amazon, the bra price is lower than I've seen on various mastectomy supply sites. What a relief to find a comfortable, more affordable solution to a frustrating post-surgery problem!

HUGE “A” CUP!
Ok, I have several 38AA’s I wear with strap extensions-although I’m just 140lbs, because of age & disability, I have a very wide rib cage-but they’re falling apart. The bras I mean. I am too, but that’s another story. I have always been a proud member of the IBTTC, Especially after nursing 3 children. My daughters tease my Son, my youngest, that he “deflated momma”. He got teeth in very early and used my poor “girls” to teeth on. Recently, a friend from China sent me 2 really nice, silk-cotton, VERY padded; one was a 40AA the other a 40A, just like this one…supposedly. Both the bra’s from China fit well, the A just slightly “bulges”, but I just don’t wear it with anything tight-and at my age, 61, NOT into “tight” tops! But I still really wanted one more bra, preferably without much padding, to wear during my frequent hospital visits. After MUCH searching, I decided on this one even though it cost a bit more than I intended. I was really excited about getting it before I’m admitted tomorrow! I received it yesterday…and when I saw it inside the box, I thought “ok, somebody goofed”! Oh my..label on the bag said 40A. I opened it to check this bra which looked like it would probably fit my DDD Daughter-we aren’t sure where they came from-my eldest is barely an A cup. Anyhow, I was able to fit 2 fists into 1 cup, with room for a 3rd fist! I thought, “maybe it’s an optical illusion”-SO, I tried it on. First, it was only on for seconds because despite being on the last clasps-it was FAR too tight! 2nd-the cups. It wasn’t an optical illusion. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be because the cups have SOME form to them…but heaven forbid if anyone got close to me or put a stethoscope on top of the cup-it would have “deflated” down to my lil girls..if you get the picture. I guess I COULD use those cold, slimy breast forms my daughter bought me a few years ago..but personally, I think I’d look pretty silly growing breasts overnight at my age, not to mention they drive my cat crazy for some reason. I have to keep them in a bag in the back of my drawer. Maybe she thinks they’re slugs, weird snakes-I have NO idea, I just know she growled at them, tried to run off with one, and started digging at my shirt when I tried them on. One actually has some claw holes in it! She NEVER growls, but these things seemed to freak her out. I’m a very simple, happily single old cat lady, I’m not planning on entering a bikini or wet t-shirt contest anytime soon. I don’t need cold slimy bra stuffing; nor do I need a deflatable bra. I DID rate this bra 3 stars because despite the VERY strange sizing-it DOES seem really nice quality, well-made, and was as soft and silky as my 50% silk Chinese bras. I’m afraid this is my first Amazon return. No offense, but I still have some bras my father purchased for me about 10 years ago-don’t ask-that I obviously couldn’t return and there aren’t many women my size around here to give away to. I’ve tried donating them-I never wore them-but no place around here takes donations of undergarments. I also have a pack of 12 “thongs” that are too tiny even for my daughter. Daddy got a bit strange when he hit 95, he just wanted to “help out” and said he enjoyed Browsing at VS. God Rest his Soul. Why can’t we use parenthesis or emojis in reviews? Amazon needs to change that!

It is true the band is smaller than expected but I usually wear a 38B and it was okay (but at the last loops). Very nice fabric and fit, works well with the gel form. I have 3 of these now.
