As others already mentioned, the hard drive sold under this listing does not match the advertised product description. As you can see from the pictures, it is an obsolete 'MQ01ABD100V' (Surveillance model), NOT the modern L200 'HDWL110' listed. Maybe it's a lottery system and some get the advertised drives, while others, receive their old stock. False Specs: The cache buffer is only 16MB (confirmed via CrystalDiskInfo), not the 128MB advertised. It has 1/8th the performance. Old Stock, BEWARE!: The manufacturing date on the label is from 2017. This is 8-year-old hardware. Defective: Due to the unit's age, it failed SMART diagnostics with "Uncorrectable Sectors" (C6) after only 30 hours of use. This hardware is not suitable for gaming and does not match the listing specifications.

My sons PS4 kept giving him blue screen (whatever that means, I know Nothing about gaming consoles lol) Tried this and that and nothing. Still not working. He said he needed a new hard drive so I looked here, read reviews and ordered. Easy to swap out and fixed the problem! Works like new again. He’s happy. As for storage capacity, & noise level I don’t know that’s why I scored it half way. It works like new so that’s all that matters over here :)

I bought this for a ps3 I got on marketplace. This is what you need to get it to work. A USB drive formatted to FAT32. Make a folder PS3. Put a folder inside that called UPDATE. download the latest update from Sony. 4.91. Drop it in the update folder and plug that into the ps3. Go into ps3 safe mode and select software update. Works like a charm.

This hard drive was easy to install and the PS4 slim without any issues at all. It did not need any formatting as the console does it automatically. Works perfectly and now I have more room than before.

Excellent, did the job and my ps3 is now 1TB. If you change your HDD on your ps3 and your disc drive starts failing, go into settings and reset the consoles settings. Factory reset alone doesn't work, something for the blueray must get stored somewhere as you will also need to reset the system settings.
