Inspired by the original Harris Tweed jacket that has come to define the English Country Gentleman, Harris Tweed Scotland Limited has created a classic gentlemans Harris Tweed jacket that is available in four elegant tweeds. Woven by hand in the traditional way in the Western Isles of Scotland the Lightweight Harris Tweed is more fitted than the Classic Harris Tweed jackets and is tailored and constructed to make it lighter to wear. There are three tweed designs, Angus, Fergus and Hamish which feature two slanted pockets, two side vents and a viscose rich lining. Every jacket sold has a high quality wooden coat hanger and carries the Harris Tweed Orb trademark label that guarantees the authenticity of the tweed. Designed for todays gentleman, the cut of the classic Harris Tweed single breasted jacket is timeless. The jacket and cuff buttons are made from leather and our unique blend of centuries old craftsmanship and contemporary finishing produces a softer Harris Tweed fabric. Inside every mens jacket we sell, you will find the famous Harris Tweed Orb trademark label which guarantees the authenticity of the tweed. All our Harris Tweed is made from 100% virgin wool that is dyed and spun in our own mill at Stornoway in the Western Isles of Scotland. The finished yarn is then delivered to the homes of crofters throughout the Outer Hebrides where, in a tradition that is centuries old, it is woven by hand into the finest Harris Tweed. The hand-woven cloth is then returned to our Stornoway mill where it is expertly washed and finished. Only when the Harris Tweed Authority have inspected every 50 metre length of cloth, is it released to be made into Harris Tweed jackets.
