CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder - 2 Pack

I initially purchased these when my wife and I bought our first home and they worked so well that I gave the 2nd one to another family member and bought more for the rest of my family. They have never failed to be right on the money for finding a stud and I love how compact they are, they are great to fit in a toolbox. The magnet is strong and this has to be the best stud finder that I have ever had.

Not normally one to leave a review but I have to say this item is amazing and let people know they actually work great! It worked exactly for what I needed when hanging my Tv on my wall. I have plaster and lath walls so finding a stud is not easy. These little gadgets (used 2) located the nails from the lath being attached to my studs very easily and even held on the wall the entire time I needed to with strong magnification. Helped mount my 75” tv with ease! Saved me a huge headache from using other methods or paying someone to do it. Highly recommend this product for those who need it.

Very basic item no batteries or electric needed. Works great strong magnet is how it finds studs. Also has leveling component

I bought one of those made in china electic stud finders. It is so finnicky that I was getting confusing readings all over the place. Meaning I was still having trouble finding studs. I needed to go back to basics to mount my TV and decided to just stick with these magnets. Pretty pricey for simple magnets. But it works quickly and easily. Move the magnet around and you will find magnet points where the stud finder just sticks to the wall. If you're not sure if it's a screw or could be something else. Move up and down... if you're hitting single magnetic spots in a fairly straight line up and down, you found the stud. If it's a congtinuous magnetic line, it's something else. Now be doubly sure. 99.9% of studs are 16" or 24" apart. so find the next stud over and measure. If it's 16"/24" you know for sure you found the studs. Some other tips... outlets are screwed on one side to a stud. So if you have an outlet you have a stud there as well. The rotating level is a pretty nifty feature as well, but doesn't work perfectly since you're almost always using it with something metal, and the magnet is so strong. Still useful though. Overall, pricey, but very worth it for something fairly foolproof that is easy to use and will last a lifetime.

Love, love, love this little handy gadget. So much guicker and easier to use than electronic stud finders. Move in a “S” formation on your wall until the magnet sticks to the stud nail. Put in your pocket or tool belt. Level is handy too! If you do not have one - you need one😁
