This Sealing Wax Kit turned out to be an absolute gem. I’ve tried buying wax beads and a warmer separately before, but this kit takes all the guesswork out of it, as it truly has everything you need in one box: a generous amount of wax beads, a sturdy warmer, a wax spoon, and tealight candles. It’s a complete start-to-finish solution that’s equally useful for beginners and people who’ve sealed dozens of envelopes. The wax itself melts evenly and quickly, and the colors are vibrant and consistent across batches. I especially liked that the beads don’t give off an unpleasant smell or leave gritty residue the way some cheaper kits do. The warmer is stable and keeps the wax at a perfect temperature so you’re not rushing before it hardens or worrying about it scorching. If you are new to wax seals, this is a solid kit. My only regret is ordering it in copper rather than brass because the brass set looks as if it were better quality. But the copper melts the wax very quickly. I lit my tealight candle, popped the base part over it, dropped three wax beads into the spoon, and laid the spoon into the hole over the lit tealight. I kept tipping the spoon back and forth because the wax started to melt almost instantly. I kept the melting wax moving until the three wax beads were completely melted -- about 2-3 minutes. Then I lifted the spoon and carefully poured the hot wax into a circle onto the back flap of the sealed envelope. As soon as there seemed to be enough wax for my stamp, I carefully pressed the stamp into the wax, held it there for 10-15 seconds, and then carefully lifted it off. I had stamped the image a little crookedly, but the wax melting and pouring couldn't have been easier or quicker. I quickly wiped the remainder of the wax from the spoon so that it didn't harden. And then I just let the parts cool off before I put them away. The family crest looked amazing!!

I wanted to try using wax seals on my wedding invitations and I was impressed at how easy this was to use. Tips: make sure wax is all melted before pouring and use 3-4 pieces in melting pot per seal to have adequate wax to press out.

Such a fun extra thing you can do to add a personal touch to any card. It’s fun and you can get creative with adding ribbons. The “wax” is actually a type of hot glue that is gold in color. It is durable for mailing looks great. The spoon holder and spoon are very heavy and high quality. The only real negative thing I can say, is the lack of thorough instructions. There are instructions with photos, but they leave out a lot of details. Here are a couple of tips that will help you be more successful: 1. Lightly coat the stamp with a little Vaseline before you use it each time. 2. Have a paper towel or tissue ready to wipe the edge of the spoon on after pouring. This is so that you don’t make a mess of the holder when you put it back. 3. If you don’t let the melted wax cool a bit before you apply it to the envelope it will bubble up. I find it most effective to let it cool a little, and then right before pouring heat the spoon a bit first. This will help produce a cleaner pour without bubbling. 4. Take a sharpie and mark the underside of the stamp so that you will know what is straight Wall stamping.

So there are some very helpful tips to using sealing wax. However, melting pieces in a little spoon just isn’t the fastest or easiest method. Glue guns are so much easier. With this set, the wax pieces won’t all melt as fast as one another, so you will need to stir them a bit. It’s hard not to get any way on the bottom of the spoon after pouring it out. The flame also chars the bottom of the spoon which can be an issue if wax gets on the bottom as well. And, it just takes several minutes to melt the wax.

Mine came completely fine, although other reviewer's complaints about their stuff being damaged should be attributed to shipping and not the product itself. Also, if your stove is catching fire, to be honest you need to learn to trim the wick of your candles. A long wick will burn sooty and also BOIL your wax, which you DO NOT WANT to do for wax. The spoon balances well in the little stove, even without wax beads to weigh it down it stays where it needs to be. With a shortened wick on your tealight candles, it melts quickly and the spoon is a large size, so you can easily melt enough wax for some larger seals that you may have. The wax beads that come with it are very nice and the whole package is at a great value. The tealight candles are very cheap and I don't care for them, but they do the job.

Comes with a good amount of wax beads and cute to use for sealing gifts. I was worried the spoon would be too handle-heavy and not sit in the warmer, but it sits nicely.

The product looks exactly like the picture, it was easy to set up and use. The wax melts within a minute or less depending on how much you have on the spoon. The candles last a decent amount of time. The bottom of the spoon does turns black after so much time over the flame but that would happen to anything over a flame for that long. The wood peice that the spoon sits on did light on fire from the candle underneath so watch the placement of the candle. But I absolutely love the product, used it for my wedding invitations and will keep using it!

This was amazing and just what I needed. The spoon sits really well in the holder so you can continue writing while your wax melts.
