Good protection
Great protection and comfortable. Haven't had a crash yet but I'm confident it will have good protection. I wear it every ride after bruising my ribs.

The Best Chest Protector I've Tried for Enduro/Trail riding
Hello all. I first bought the 4.5 Hydra Chest/Backpack Combo..Gorgeous Pice but the Chest Protector was TINY and the whole system was VERY HEAVY on my back when filled with Water. So I was so impressed with how comfortable the Chest Protector was I bought 4,5 Chest Protector in XXL . I am 5'-11" and205-210lbs andit fits me perfectly with lots of room to spare! VERY WELL BUILT! I am running it with a Camelbak Repak Waist 1.5L Hydrapak and i just love having all that weight off my back!!I felt so free on Sunday's Ride!

Saved me from serious injuries.
Used this from day one riding Winter park downhill. Feel it’s the best I could get for when I screw up. Let’s just say I screwed up on rainmaker and overshot a jump by 15 feet according to people I was riding with (thinking it was a different jump) and went Superman and crashed and burned hard. I did break four ribs under the right armpit 3,4,5 & 11, BUT the e.r. Team said if it wasn’t for the chest protector I would have gotten a helicopter ride. Didn’t even bruise at all on side. The impact was so hard it sheared off the pedal and cracked open my helmet. And it saved me from a tree impact also. That one hit square on the chest plate and didn’t even bother me. It dispersed the impact. I was very thankful both times to be wearing this chest protector. Once your riding you don’t even realize your wearing it. I do recommend you wear a under shirt. Or like me over my jersey. Then it can be taken off easily. 100% recommended.

Perfect but I think I should have ordered one with shoulder guards
I'm 62 years old and 250 lbs. I ride at the edge of my abilities and I crash. I bought this because I had a recent fall at the end of my handlebars and it was a very bad injury. This is lightweight but has protected me well from two recent falls. I was worried it would be too hot to wear but it fits well and is surprisingly comfortable. I would like to add shoulder guards in the future if possible.
