PAINTPEOPLE Chalky Furniture Paint (750ml, Natural Charcoal)

This is a lovely quality paint, it’s got a smooth texture, a polished finish, it dries quickly and gives a super flat matte look. It came at a good price, it’s bright clean and covered in one coat. A beautiful green blue colour.

We had this traditional white ikea sideboard (pictured) that seemed a bit too bland so decided to purchase this paint to give it a refresh and also tie it in with the rest of the house. The blue is like a blue grey, almost a dull teal, but it’s really modern and has some warmth to it which is what I was looking for. The paint went on easily, it took three coats to do this piece but in places I could have done four. Each time it dried well overnight, and you could see the coverage building over the white. I chose to top this with a clear data in varnish afterwards just for durability but I don’t think you would have to. The main point about this paint is the colour, it really is lovely and flare at quality chalk paint for furniture.

The colour but reason I gave 4 stars is that they recommended using the wax to finish off but this didn't seal the product despite saying that no primer was required. Paint easily got scratched and chipped. Don't like spray varnish (it just goes everywhere!) so purchased another brand's matt varnish that wasn't matt at all and changed the look of the colour so kinda feel that it was a bit of a waste... but if you can find the right finish for this it's super lovely!

This paint is fantastic. I purchased the graphite colour as you can see from first photo the coverage is fantastic a little went a long way. Covered 14 kitchen cupboard fronts and still had some left over from 750ml tin. Went on darker than hoped but dried much lighter so pleased with the results. Water got splashed on the cupboard under the sink and when dried its left these horrid water marks down the front. I've painted over these again and sprayed all the cupboards with a clear lacquer to seal it and protect it from water marks. Finish is great very happy.

Would recommend to anyone. Its fantastic. Brought a 2nd hand chest of drawers from Facebook and covered with no priming or sannding. 2 coats and it came out amazing. Was hooked so painted an old bookcase I had and covered that too. I then ordered a flat pack pine display unit so ordered another can and painted the whole thing black before I built it and its perfect. I have also painted a curtain pole, a fire surround, a window ledge and metal lamp. I still have 3/4 of the 2nd can left and looking for more things to paint!! Definitely recommend. Although if something is varnished sand lightly before you paint use to give it a key but still the easiest paint ever used.

Cannot recommend this paint enough! The colour is beautiful, paint dries super fast and is almost odourless. I painted wood, vinyl, plaster and plastic with it, adhered well to all mediums. The paint has a nice finish and looks elegant once dry. Definitely recommend!

I watered this down as was fairly thick. I got black sand thinking that it was almost black, like charcoal, but it’s not it’s dark grey, I was fooled even by the sample of this Color I bought, I was so sure it was darker. So will have to go over with liquorice next.
