very good value.
very good value. mounted correctly to my carry handle, feels very secure with no wiggle. optics are not perfect but are better than price. took a little to sight, but once on, i was consistently hitting an 8x8 steel target at 100 yds from a bench. my reticle was not canted like other reviews have indicated (lucky?). will be trying the BDC at longer ranges soon. looks great on my rifle. only con i have so far, hard to use my iron sights.

Good for price
As you can assume from the price, it's not the highest quality sight you can find. However when all the other options are $200+, it's really not bad. Now, there's pro's and con's to this sight. Pro's: Looks good Mounts up pretty nice Easy to adjust Sight is clear along with the reticle Shoots pretty good out of the box Con's: The reticle on mine is cocked to the side, not sure if that's just a me issue or if it's a larger scale issue The quality of the sight build is questionable, but not what I would consider "bad" I haven't shot with this enough to test how well it holds zero, but when I do I'll update this review. For context, this is mounted on an M16A2 clone. 4/5

Outstanding handle mount scope
I carried a 4X scope on my M16 in the Navy and as an LEO. I liked the cheek weld and the magnification. Perfect for me. The one I had before was made in Japan but worked like a champ, never losing zero. So, I decided to try this one from Barska. It mounted very securely and then off to the range. It was a little high and to the left at 25 yards. Dialed it right in and off to the 50 yard range. A little high again but easily dialed in again. Shot another 20 rounds with 55 and 50 grain 556. Perfect with both dead center. If you are looking for a bullet proof handle scope, I highly suggest this Barska handle mount scope. It's easy to mount, easy to zero. My only complaint is the reticle is a little thick, but you can work with it. Otherwise, the scope is it well made, clear optics and easy to adjust. Buy one and you won't be disappointed! I am a POST certified firearms instructor and Navy firearms instructor as well. I have extensive knowledge of the AR/ M16 platform for over 30 years of use.

You Get What You Pay For!
I knew from other reviews that this scope was not a quality product, by any stretch of the imagination. Took the chance because of some positive reviews. From the beginning, it was difficult to get the retaining nut started while trying to mount, and could use a slightly longer bolt for mounting to the handle. Crosshair intersection is slightly left of center when viewed through the scope after it is zeroed @ 100 yards. Each click on the adjustments is close to and inch @ 100 yards instead of the "1/4" @ 100 yards" marked on the ring around the adjustment screws. This makes achieving accuracy difficult in my opinion. I attempted to use the BDC turret for shooting a target @ 200 yards and had no hits on the target in 10 shots. Very disappointing! Switching back to the 100 setting on the BDC turret, I was able to confirm it was still holding the 100 yard zero and did so through 125 total rounds. This scope interferes with the rear sight on the carry handle making switching apertures impossible, and the loss of all elevation adjustment beyond 200 yards. I set my rear sight using the Santos improved battle sight settings and at 4 clicks below the 3/6 mark, the rifle is zeroed @ 200 yards using the small aperture. I switched to the large aperture(0-200 meters) before mounting the scope. The rear sight aperture makes contact with the bottom of the scope and seeing the BUIS clearly is difficult for me because of it. The mount is poorly designed and should be a little taller to allow full rear sight adjustment. This is especially true if the BDC adjustment on the scope is unreliable! I like to get a good value for my dollar and often purchase inexpensive items that perform very well. This scope is not one of them and hasbeen returned to Amazon for a refund. I do not see a replacement being any better. On the bright side: I did get several compliments on the retro look of my A2 style 20" build while at the range yesterday, because of the scope addition. Not enough to warrant keeping this purchase. Conclusion: See the title of my review. If you are willing to accept that your AR-15 will be fairly useless beyond 100 yards with this scope, and appearance is more important than function, it may be a keeper for you.

Too much movement within the carrying handle.
I own several Barska scopes and have been extremely pleased with them. This one however has several problems that any serious shooter needs to know before buying, the most important issue being that it is not a fixed, immovable scope. Within the carrying handle, there is too much play, even after tightening it down as much as it can be. I even tried using a regular nut with locking washer instead of the nut that came with it, but it still moves, which means that with each shot and recoil, the zero changes. In addition to this, the adjustable eye relief section closest to the shooter's face also moves within the tube itself, which means that with each shot and recoil, the zero changes. Like I said, I own several Barskas and have been pleased with them, and despite me knowing this is a budget line scope and not a Leupold, nevertheless, there are some serious design flaws that need to be remedied in making this a better scope which I hope Barska will have its R&D department look into.

Nice reto optic in the age of red dots and flat railed rifles
Nice retro optic. Mounted to my carry handle, Smith and Wesson M&P 15 with no issues. As my eyes age, I'm beginning to appreciate red dots and scopes. Once I got it dialed in, I shot good groups at 100 yards. There were no issues with eye relief, and the optic quality/clarity works for me. Instructions for zero aren't the greatest, but I figured it out. Comes with amber and clear lens caps. Nicely packaged. Keep in mind it is 4 power, at 100 yards it brings the target in, but you won't see rounds impacting, etc. I still needed my spotting scope to see hits on target.

Dialed in at 100 meters. The adjustment clicks are positive and meaningful ... The only downside for me is the thickness of the reticle. It's wonderful scope for the money and looks the part on my AR 15. The only complaint I have is that it did not come with a warranty card.

Mounts properly, works decently, as expected for an entry level optic
