No need to be sheepish, this is the extender you need for long distance transmits (upto 18 miles)
Rather tight niche this - sending fiber data over 18 miles. But if your sheep need netflix, what else are you going to do? Sheep do not do well with DVD's - the mud messes it up. A touch screen, fiber streaming data to the shed or field, and happy sheep.Joking aside, when you need to send data/share internet over a large body of land, this is a cracking solution. Just run the fiber, hook it up at each end and you are going! The devices are small, and run silently and cool. The speed sustains well (although testing was on runs considerably shorter than 18 miles) and there were no glitches. I have said this in other reviews - all StarTech kit is well built, well thought out, and simply works. If you need to get data 18 miles, this is what you need, dont waste your time looking at anything else. And let the sheep change the channel - you may think they like Shaun the Sheep movies, but really they don't. They like Gorden Ramsay cooking shows. When he cooks lamb, its their version of the Silence of the Lambs.
