Perfect Products 01273 II Residential Door Saver

I installed one of these on each of the 4 inch hinges of the door leading to my garage. We had recently put a narrow IKEA cabinet in the entrance way and needed to limit how far the door would open to prevent hitting it. I chose this model versus the newer one that uses the existing hinge pin since it sounds like those lead to having the hinge pin work its way out. This version does not do that. I was surprised at how large the increment was when adjusting them for the desired swing of the door. But I was able to adjust all three to the same position that worked. I put one on each hinge to spread the force across all three hinges. I am sure if I were to really force the door open, something would fail (either this product or the hinges themselves) but that is the case for most door stops. The install is straightforward. You simply remove the existing hinge pin and slid this product into the hinge and adjust the opening range by unthreading the top cap and moving the stop to a different position, which is splined. As I mentioned, moving the stopper one spline leads to a rather large change in the door swing, but I was able to find an adjustment that worked for my application. Note that these are 4 inches long, so if you have a hinge of a different length, it may not work as well.

Seem to work well. Only hitch was in shipping. Delayed for some reason, seller said it was USPS problem.

These actually worked, but they are pretty cheap feeling. If money is the object, they do work. But I found that the cap was very difficult to get on and off and the chrome was a bit cheap looking. I also thought that the "gear" type of mechanism that the stop is supposed to mesh with was pretty rugged, which made it hard to get off initially and didn't leave me confident that it will last a long time. All that being said, the stop does work and it is far more elegant then the rocker style hinge door stop that I replaced was.

These are terrible. I purchased two at the same time, and one didn't work at all; a stopper that was supposed to be fixed to the hinge pin rotated freely. The other barely worked but was insufficient to adequately protected my wall.
