Very happy
Installed almost two weeks ago. Easy to assemble. Worked as expected. Very happy with the float. Will buy more. Water flow was good, quality seems good and durable, will probably last longer since it’s plastic and was a very good fit to the PVC and stock tank. I am very happy with the water pressure and the float cutting off the supply when full.

withstand the test of time
I have a dozen troughs, I have used the metal version for years, with the exception of one of these plastic versions. The metal ones last a few years but then corrode badly in my hard water. I didn't think that the plastic would last but then realized that my lone plastic float has been in place for 15 yrs, despite my hard water and numerous assaults by horses and livestock. I used to get these at the local tractor supply but they started to carry another brand. I tried that brand and they just failed right and left. Glad that I found these on Amazon, just replaced all my floats, these are sturdy, reliable and save a lot of labor.

THE BEST AUTO FILL I'VE HAD
I was skeptical upon ordering the Trough-O-Matic since I have been through so many varieties of auto-fills for my pond over 25 years. Honestly, I had ordered another traditional type at the same time and went with that last year. This year I decided to give the Trough-O-Matic a try. I am glad that I did! I have had it working for 3 months already and there have not been any of the tradtional problems like not turning off or on which seem to be the common problems with most of them. Surprisingly, in spite of my initial appraisal this thing has turned out to be sturdy, functional and very easy to install. It is very easy to adjust and that is done by simply loosening the included brakets then sliding the unit up or down. I use an isolated pump area where I installed a 2 x4 that holds the Trough-O-Matic. I am delighted with it after fighting for years with conventional and not so conventional attempts to have a trouble free auto fill and the Trough-O-Matic has been trouble free so far. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has endured the same frustrations that I have over the years. I do not worry about coming home after a short trip now to find a very low pond or one that is overflowing!

Great valve but sprays up when filling
I have these on two fish ponds and they work great but when initially filling, they spray water into the air. Maybe there is a use for that. Maybe to let you know the water is running at a high rate. Just be aware of the spray when installing as it can get you wet. I also use Dare valves that are almost identical and same price except for the spray hole.

Works great, very dependable
Use this for a dog watering station for all of the dogs in our area and works great, have been using for over a month with no issues at all, can recommend this for keeping water levels constant.

Does the job...
These just go and go and go.... like the Energizer bunny! I have several around on livestock water troughs for cattle. One thing that I've done on all, after getting tired of them being flipped out of the trough or the hose chewed on or the various and sundry other ways curious and mettlesome cattle can mess with things is: 1) Either cobble a guard over the float valve and or the hose coming out of the top so the cattle simply cannot mess with them, or 2) on a tub that has thin sides and no lip, I drilled a couple holes thru the trough and bolted the Little Giant bracket to the trough. The mounting hardware in that last case was just not a positive enough grip to keep the cattle from pulling it off the tub. But all now are either bolted on or have a guard over them, and work just wonderfully. Another problem I've had in the past, probably more with the metal than the plastic ones, but to some degree with all: Where the hose screws into the Little Giant, after it's there a year or two it basically welds itself in!! Not sure if this is due to mineral deposits from my water, or what, but even if the float valve is fine, if the hose breaks, I can't unscrew the hose from the float valve and end up discarding a perfectly good float valve because I can't get the bad hose unscrewed! The last few valves that I've put in, I used that thin white thread tape/film on the connection, which hopefully with prevent that problem. So far I haven't had to try and unscrew any of those...

Game changer
I feel like an idiot for not doing this sooner. Live in North Carolina where heat and humidity make molds and algae flourish. We had to dump and scrub the horses tanks every week. When its hot, they empty a tank in a day. It was a daily, sometimes 2 x a day chore just to keep clean water. Put this baby on, with a stock tank tablet, and so far have had a tank FULL of clean water every time I check for 2 weeks. Will see how long it lasts with a curious gelding, but so far so good. Excellent as a matter of fact. 68 year old woman assembled and installed with no problem. Nuf said.

It does the job
I have purchased several of these throughout the years. They do a good job of shutting off the hose so you do not overfill your tank. They are plastic however so they don't last a long time, maybe a couple years.
