Great Film With Talented People!! Loved it!
I just ordered and received the third DVD of this film. I lived in Chicago in the 60s and often visited some of the black blues clubs in the Old Town district. I heard Muddy Waters live and enjoyed his music. He was always a snappy dresser, very polite and well mannered and ripped those guitar solos! When the band took a break and went out back to "smoke", he sat down on the edge of the stage and smoked. ...and conversed with his fans who approached him. Always polite and well mannered. I love this DVD but end up giving my copy to a friend and have to get a new one for me. Maybe I'll just keep this one! I know I'll watch it again tonight.

Exceptional Movie/ So-So Bluray
5 Star Movie - I have 2500+ movies at home. Between Redbox, Netflix, going to the theater often, and my own collection, the days of watching a movie more than once or twice is less commonplace for me than it use to be. Why then, can I not stop watching this movie after all the time it's been out? Because it's exceptional in most every way. It's gritty, it's funny (but not stupid), it has some tear jerking moments, but it's overall pretty inspiring. This is based on fact for the most part. These cats really lived. Truly a rags to riches story. Jeffrey Wright really made this movie. Aside from Jamie Foxx in Ray, This may just be the most convincing performance I've ever seen. He WAS Muddy Waters. The entire cast was fantastic. The movie was paced how a movie should be paced. It's just a fantastic story filled with wonderful music and they went all out. I saw it in the theater in 2008 and have seen it at least 50x since. 3 Star Bluray - As blurays go, this is not reference material to show off your system. That's for sure. It looks and sounds marginally better than the upconverted DVD on my system and it offers NOTHING over the DVD as far as special features. Except some worthless jukebox feature that nearly no one will use. The TrueHD track wasn't as good as I thought it would be either. So yeah, it's a disappointing bluray release, but with that said, at it's current price of $6.99 on Amazon, it's a must own. It's not at all a bad bluray, it's just not as much of an upgrade over the DVD as it could have been. It's a must own movie, no matter what media you have it on.
