DonJoy Performer Patella Knee Support Brace

Love it first time in a long time that I actually got support with my knee

This brace is well made for the modest price. It is definitely for the middle of the road users. I tried lesser types (elastic, no plastic stays) didn’t work as well as this one. This on allows mobility with ease of movement.

This knee brace product by DonJay was provided by my rehabilitation doctor for my 2 knee injuries. The same product fits either knee. Unfortunately the M (Medium) size that my doctor had was too small. So I found on Amazon the identical brace at additional sizes: L, XL and XXL at different prices. I ordered 2 L size which arrived in 2 days for ~$35 each 😃. The L size had the side hinge (see illustration attached from the included product pamphlet) identical to MD M size 😃 and fit perfectly my Left knee 👏. Unfortunately my Right leg 🦵 required a larger size. No big problem, I ordered an XL which was cheaper ~$20 👏. But now things went very wrong 😕: 1. The XL was the SAME size as the L (see other reviews regarding size and picture attached) 😱. 2. It didn't have the hinge that I need‼️😱. I thought that it didn't have the hinge since it was much cheaper. So I ordered both the another XL and XXL to be sure it fits and has the required hinge which were more expensive ~$40 each. These were indeed bigger and fit me BUT they DIDN'T ❌️ have the hinge 😱‼️ Overall I had 7 DonJay braces to compare. ONLY 1 was the size I needed for my Left knee and had the required hinge (only 4 out of 7 had hinges). This despite that ALL had identical pamphlets with a hinge which is inconsistent with the picture on the box and Amazon product picture which is almost impossible to notice. I called Amazon customer service (really hard to reach 😱) and they were very nice and noted 📝 my compliments above. Clearly there are problems with the manufacturer information and product description and size provided. One brace came in a plastic bag without the product box. It did have the identical pamphlet. Amazon refunded the money for braces that I couldn't use, no problems 👏 Conclusion: DON'T buy this DonJay product unless you want to gamble and order lots and hope to get lucky 🍀 with size and hinge. If lucky 🍀 seems like the product is good and well made 😃

It supports my knee ! It’s so hard to get off after the day with it ! Due to Sweating an all !!

This knee brace was an essential companion during my six week rehab healing process. However, when I was at my most painful stages, the brace sometimes exacerbated the problem when it was time to remove it (for showers, end-of-day, changing clothes, etc.). My physician had fitted me for this brace, and it was the perfect size. But, it was very difficult to take it off of my leg. The removal process often caused pain and frustration, even setbacks. Even so, it's still the best knee brace I've used. I would recommend it.

I have had two knee injuries in the past 8 years. I also have rheumatoid arthritis. The first time I inured my knee the doctor prescribed an older version of this knee brace. The cost was over $350. Of course the insurance paid half. I have continued to use it over the year but it is not usable anymore. I looked on Amazon and found this. It is lighter than the old one. It has much better support and is comfortable. It helps me to do my walking everyday. I walk 3 miles and have no trouble. Great buy.

This particular brace recommended by my doctor, but it ran small and was also a bit bulky, so I returned it.

This is the brace I needed. Not a slip on one. It is a little snug however hoping will give once I start using it. I ordered a size up from the one I have however just a different brand might make a difference in the sizes.

Bought it for my husband. It does the job but the metal part is already coming out and scratches him. Need to find a way to keep metal part in it’s place.

I bought this for skiing. I found it to be very tight to the point of cutting off circulation. I can manage to ski for two or so hours with it.

Nothing.

The knee brace definitely helps with the general pain and provides support when exercising but it won’t stay up for more than a few seconds before it slides down out of place and that’s only with normal flexion of the knee.. if you’re doing any motion, especially running and even walking, the brace slides down out of position and you’re constantly have to pull it back up.
