Morning workout
Easy to use, though it does feel like a workout in order to get my morning coffee ground! I’ve found that weighing (not scooping) the beans is the only way to ensure I grind the right amount for our espresso machine.

Perfect grind, no burnt taste, everytime!
Really enjoy hand grinding my coffee in the morning. I use a French press and this grinder creates the perfect size grind with zero burnt taste and because of the consistent size granules zero to very little sediment. I do notice the cup that screws onto the bottom to catch the grounds does loosen up as I grind, but a gentle twist seats it back securely. This really is a lovely grinder, will last forever, and your coffee will taste delicious! Technically, since this is a hand grinder and we are talking about coffee beans and not rocks - it should be easy for anyone to use. That said, I have carpal tunnel flare ups and during one of those, it is difficult to grip the container, so I do wear a nitrile glove then, and that makes it much easier.

Round and round and round vs. a button.
A very well-made and very fancy way to grind coffee. Day after day, 100 turns of the Comandante C40 MK3 grinder produced 22 grams of ground coffee. And those subsequent cups of coffee throughout the week were splendid. But where is that grinder now? IN THE KITCHEN DRAWER...FOREVER. The 100 turns didn't make the coffee better - just more work. And the maintenance of this grinder is over the top. My electric burr grinder at half the price also delivers 22 grams of well-ground coffee. And that cup of coffee is as satisfying. I'm just saying, for me, I'd rather push a button than turn a grinder 100 times. Sometimes working harder for something doesn't necessarily make it better. But I suppose if you're into impressing yourself and others with this exotic coffee grinder - and the price, then go for it.

Fast and accurate
I use for pour over, once I found setting I liked it does an excellent job. Rock solid construction with best burrs around.

Expensive but exclusive
It ’s expensive, but the coffee made with beans ground with this machine is the best.

Mk3 is an old model
The Mk4 updated model came out in 2021. The Mk3 is no longer in production. The Mk4 improves the loading of beans and comes with two jars: one made of unbreakable tritan polycarbonate and a second made of brown glass. If the Mk3 is available at a good discount then the actual grinding mechanism is the same as the Mk4 and it should produce equivalent results. However, there would be no reason to pay more for a Mk3 compared to buying a current-production Mk4.

As soon as you take it out of the box, you think; "Oh, that's really nice" First impressions count, but these can fade based on day to day use. I'm glad to say that it has, so far, retained it's charm - replacing my electric ceramic burr grinder for my daily brew. The grinder comes with 3 main parts: ° A heavy steel with wood veneer grinding cylinder. ° The grinding handle with a large wooden bulb. ° A glass grounds collection cup that screws into the grinding cylinder. You get some other bits in the pack too; a dark glass bean storage jar, a branded rubber band thing?, a certificate, instruction manual and some nice stickers. All of the pieces feel high quality - and you'd be right in thinking that for the price, they bloody well ought to. You don't feel hard done by, however, as the quality is excellent. You paid a lot for something really nice and you have something really nice. Three things delight: 1. The satisfying click as the grinding handle pops into place with a magnetic grip 2. The ease of grinding, every turn feels good and you get tactile feedback of the beans passing through the burrs. 3. The clever grind size dial that you push in slightly then click a desired number of turns to get the grind size you want. No unscrewing anything or dismantling anything. Two (minor) things could be better 1. The lid on the extra bean storage jar feels cheap and a bit flimsy 2. The see through plate that prevents beans popping out while grinding can be pushed off vertical slightly, but it self aligns again, it just feels a bit weird considering the quality of everything else. Overall, I'm really happy with this grinder.

Excellent craftsmanship and since I have used one in the past , it lives up to its reputation. Excellent choice for V60 and Artisan coffee beans. The glass receptacle could have been on stained glass . I like to see my grind.
