Lego Dimensions (is it worth the price?)
Bought for a 6 year old. So far we have this, Disney infinity, and skylanders super chargers, out of the three, Lego dimensions is in the number 1 spot. In box ( 3 plastic bags of Lego's and instructions on building the portal (plugs into Wii u as USB) and the three Lego people ( batman, styles and gandof ). Batman car also included and the game. None of the lego pieces took very long to build but if you kids are to impatient to play, there is no need to build anything. Instructions on building batman car are in game play. We have only got through a few levels but if u have played Lego type games before, you should know what your getting. The pros in this game are the multiple portal games and the amount of characters you can play with. From playing as a big/small batman, to zapping in and out of different locations, breaking apart the Simpson home, having magical powers such as fire, water, lightening and time warp, this game should be exciting for all ages. Con: keep portal out of reach or removes pieces all together. Lego portal can break apart easily if dropped or picked up. Even though Lego's not needed for game play, its nice to look at the characters on the portal but after being broken apart so often, you should expect to lose a few pieces. Even though this is a good game, $99 is to much. Wait for a sale like I did. $50-$60 is a good buying price especially since you'll be spending more money buying different characters and vehicles

Pros outweigh the cons for our family
Pros and Cons Pros *Lego games are always fun. I do not understand why it is so fun to break things in the Lego world, but it is! *You are not stuck playing one game world. You can enter multiple different worlds and it's like you are playing a different Lego game. *You can play as different characters in the same world. *You can be one character and use a different characters vehicle. *You get to build actual Lego pieces. *You collect many different Lego characters because of this game. Fun for kids to have when they are playing with real Legos, unless you don't want to lose them. :) You can with 2 people. And the 2nd person isn't stuck following the first person around either. You can both be off exploring different parts of the game. *Story mode takes you through all the different worlds and gives you a taste of each one in a different way. Then when you get additional characters you can enter those worlds in free play and do even more. *This starter pack comes with 3 characters which gets you into 3 of the worlds plus one car. *You can upgrade your character vehicles. When you do you can also follow the directions and make the actual lego car look like the upgrade in the game. Cons *You have to buy additional packs/characters to have access to different worlds and to complete worlds. *The Lego Dimension game pad is not wireless so you can only be as far away from the tv as the cord will let you. And you are using the game pad regularly throughout the game moving your characters around on it at different points in the game and bringing in the characters vehicles so it has to be close to where to are sitting. *As you collect the many different characters to play the game you now have to have proper storage for the pieces. You build so many characters that they all need to have a place to be kept. *Each character and car comes with a Toy Tag that allows the pad to read that you are using that character. The chip is in the tag not the Lego pieces that become your character. that you attach to the bottom of the piece when you have finished building it. You can play with the tags only I suppose, as that is what the game pad reads, but it's more fun to see your character actually sitting there. *If you lose the Toy Tag you cannot play that character anymore, so don't lose the tags! *One person has to play with the Wii U game controller and play watching the little screen while the other person can play with a regular wii remote on the television. *The additional character packs are ridiculously expensive. I think I have covered all the things I think matter. Overall this is a fun game. My family loves just about anything Lego. It was worth it to us to get. To us the Pros out weigh the Cons. We have collected a few game expansion packs which has been fun. Hopefully they will lower the prices soon as the new holiday season approaches. This starter kit is already less than what I paid for it last year. Even if you never get all the different characters there are still hours and hours of fun game play that makes it worth adding to your Lego collection.

A genius integration of LEGO toys and video games.
Not sure why I've read so many negative reviews of this. I wasn't expecting much considering the pay-to-play model similar to Disney Infinity. I figured the game play would be pretty limited without spending a fortune on expansion packs but that's definitely not the case. This has definitely kept my kids the busiest of all the things they got for the holidays. The pluses are the interesting combination of using the character in game with using the actual figures to accomplish goals and the need to find instructions in the game to build the physical models. It does have its limits, however, and I'd say the biggest one is the narrow age range that it's suited for. Kids younger than 7 or 8 might find it too challenging and kids older than 12 may find it a little too easy. The game play is entertaining and fun to watch with LEGO's usual brand of humor present in their other great titles. I'm giving this four instead of five only because of the cost of buying new packs for it.

Minifigure didn't work - Can't even play the game
Much like SkyLanders and Disney Infinity, Lego Dimensions requires you to use lego minifigures, with an embedded chip, in order to play the game. Sadly, on Christmas morning we found that the key character did not work on the "portal". (The portal was not sensing the chip.) Although the portal did sense the chips for the other characters we had, this particular character (Batman) is required to initiate the game - before any other game play can occur. In the end, the game is completely un-playable. Inside the package there is a note indicating that the product should not be returned to the retailer - and that you must go directly through Lego. I submitted a request to Lego, indicating the problems I was having and the steps I had taken to resolve the problem (according to their website). 72hrs later I received a canned response - instructing me to do all of the things I had already done. It is now almost 2 week after Christmas and we have a useless pile of lego video game stuff. Here's hoping that Lego's customer service steps it up.

The Lego is fine, I’ve put everything together but the disc doesn’t work. It keeps saying that it’s invalid. I have tried to return and get a refund but it won’t let me

Même si le jeu à été considérer comme un echec commerciale, je trouve que j'expérience est plutôt intéressante. Pour un fan de Lego, le fait de pouvoir construire les objets est réellement un point positif.

This is an awesome game! I only paid close to 70 bucks (plus shipping) for being a "used" game. Considering everything was brand spankin new! Original boxes, clear wrap around the game, right down to the tape around the box!
