This is the BEST walking can to buy. I purchased one from Amazon for $39 and it had a smaller base so it fell over easily and the rubber handles was not comfortable (I won't mention the brand), but considered HuGo because the base and handle had a better design and it's only approximately ($20), half the price of the one I'm not happy with. Very, very pleased with purchase, esp. since it's my sidekick and helps me move about and get things done. You won't be disappointed with HuGo!

I'm only giving 4 stars because I've only just started using the cane. I bought a quad cane because they're supposed to stand up on their own, and guess what? They are not going to fight you if you try to knock them over. Who knew? You may have to pick up your cane on a wonky leg from time to time. It's very stable, and it helps me stay stable. My physical therapist had me practising with a regular cane and my wrist kept giving out. I don't know what that's all about, but this is definitely more secure. I was in some kind of cast or another for 12 weeks, and I have to learn how to walk again. Security is more important to me than speed; I hope not to be using a cane much longer. It's probably a different decision for someone who expects to be using a cane permanently. At any rate mini quads are lighter and the therefore supposedly faster. I'd rather have a cane that stands on it's own (I'm constantly dropping things.) I do recommend getting a quad cane with a smaller base (like this one) because you can take on stairs safely. This one even stands politely in the corner waiting for me (how considerate:) So think about what you need in a cane. You can Google it and get all the pros and cons, and now you know my opinion, too. More specifically to this cane, so far it's what I expected. I read 3 different reviews. Though they didn't agree as to the #1 most recommended cane, they all included this one in their top 5 or so. And it's the only one they did. Oh, and this one comes with it's own name. I like my Hugo!

Fans fantastic cane!

I’ve seen multiple reviews that complained of receiving a cane with missing parts, or one that wobbles and doesn’t sit level. The one I ordered, thankfully, came in perfect condition. Got it for my mom, and she loves it. She is only 4’11” and I was concerned it would be difficult to find one that would work for her height, but this is perfect, set at the lowest level. We bought another one very similar to this one from a big name store (different brand), but it was black, and it was the only one of all the ones on the shelf that didn’t wobble (legs did not sit level), so I think that is a problem common to this design, not just this brand. Anyway, my mom really wanted a pretty cane, so we got this one. Now she keeps the black one upstairs, and uses this pink one downstairs and outside (she uses a chair lift on the stairs, so this way she does not have to carry the cane upstairs and downstairs all the time). I love this design because it is free-standing, so it won’t fall over and it provides greater stability for the user, and the handle design works great for small hands (unlike the T-style handles). Although some people have had trouble with the condition of the canes they received, we did not, and if you get one in good condition, you will be very pleased. Definitely worth taking a chance on this one! If you get one that is not perfect, simply return it and order a replacement!

My elderly FIL has had a basic cane forever and we were worried because his mobility and balance are going downhill fast. It just wasn’t safe anymore for his needs. I bought him this quad cane and he’s pretty stubborn about change so I wondered if he’d actually use it. After a few days of it just sitting there he tried it out and uses it every time he walks now. He really likes the ergonomic handle and that it stands on its own. He has even managed to attach his catheter bag to it so he has less burden when getting around. The only thing to note is when switching from a basic pole cane to a quad bottom, there is a bit of a chance to trip on the legs if you’re not used to it or if going up or down stairs. Note that all four legs need to be on the stairs for safety. I just told him to be mindful that he doesn’t trip on the extra legs and he’s doing really well with it. It’s been a month and no issues!

I very much like my Hugo quad cane with the small base. I feel more secure using it then a regular cane. Plus nice that I can just place it anywhere as it stands by it self. The color is nice and fairly light. Thinking about ordering another one but will look for another brand. Unhappy with this product because the bottom of the cane where it meets the base is crooked. So my cane is not straight. This is very annoying. There is no way to adjust the cane as welded in place. So when using the cane with the feet going forward the handle of the cane itself is aimed to the left, off about a quarter inch. Just enough to be annoying.

Quality matters and so does design After several near falls with a much more expensive folding cane, I watched a YouTube video comparison with this one piece cane. That Is when I realized that folding canes are a compromise between convenience and stability, For me, stability is paramount. I have severe neuropathy of both feet and hands. So the four widely spaced ‘feet’ on this cane is a godsend. The cane does not wobble on hard surfaces. I suppose that if I planned on walking on uneven terrain I would need a different kind of ‘foot’ - one that flexed. However getting around the house or out shopping, this is exactly the kind of stability I need Turning to the issue of quality. This cane is not the lightest around. The metal of the shaft is much thicker than its competitors; the fasteners are industrial grade. The handle is broader and far more comfortable to grip. When I say the cane is heavier, we are talking about maybe 100 grams or less. Importantly, the shaft does not flex This inspires confidence so that I don’t have to worry about where I put my feet. Finally the price. For less than half of the price of a lighter folding cane, this is a bargain

This is exactly what I needed. I have a regular cane, but it's just not good enough. This cane gives me so much more stability, and confidence. It's a very good quality, strong cane. I feel very confident using it. The pink 🩷 color is a nice added touch. I am very happy with this purchase. It's a brand you can count on. Price is very good, and delivery was quick 👍
