As a snare drummer in need of a pad, great!
With as little bias as possible, I freakin love it. I've used Vic Firth products for a couple of years now and been fully satisfied. This is no exception. I love the versatility of both sides. Excellent for practicing and chop building. I also feel like there arent enough reviews from actual drummers and more people who bought it as a gift. But yea, a little pricier than I wouldve liked but amazing all the same. Its also worth noting its a bit of a dirt magnet, but depending on where you use it, that shouldnt be an issue 1 YEAR EDIT: After almost a year, I've noticed a few things. 1. Biggest thing applies to particularly drum line. The branding at the top that that has no padding is a bit annoying. Drumline involves using the top of a drum head to reduce volume, and with no padding at the top of the "head", I find myself flipping it upside down pretty frequently. 2. It's pretty durable. I carry it to school with me every day and it hasn't had any issues. The padding hasn't suffered excessively after a year of continuous use. The parts I use most are a little worn down, but nothing that isn't normal. 3. It does slip a little if you don't have it on a good surface. At school, I usually have it on my lap or a wooden bar stool. It tends to slip as I'm practicing because I usually use the soft side and the hard side (the side thats on the bottom in this case) isn't very grippy. Just pay attention to what you put it on or how hard you play. I'll also add more pictures, but this concludes my 1 year revisit. Still completely satisfied! Hope this helps

It's a good one.
This is built to last. It is mechanically stable, and the sound has a sharp focus. You can make your own judgment about the liveliness of the bounce, but I find it excellent for practice purposes. It blends well with others like it, so your drum line can practice all together. A nice feature is the suitability for use with widely varying stick weights. This pad works best on a stand, but it is also OK on a table. It won't migrate with vibration, nor will it transmit shock to the supporting surface. I'm not sure why it's configured dodecahedronally, but that doesn't bother me. After all, drummers aren't supposed to be very smart. They just consider themselves lucky to be allowed to hang out with musicians. [Ha, ha... stereotype!]. Anyway, a separate case for this might be nice, but it will likely fit inside a solid side snare case right on top of the drum itself. Try not to spill sugary beverages on the playing surfaces; and if you do, clean off the residue with diluted dish soap or Goo-Gone. I've seen some older pads that have started to delaminate. However, this one looks likely to last. If it does begin to separate, a little Plio-Bond should solve the problem. That's a rubber cement that dries springy instead of rock hard. Finally, remember, "the beat goes on!"

Excellent Quality
I already owned the 5” version of this but I wanted something snare size. The gum surface has quick rebound and the wood base seems very solid, absorbing the hits. The pad was a little too big for my Tama practice pad stand so I had to bend the claws out a little but it fits fine now. It has a rubber backing so it can also be used on any flat surface. I’ve had the 5” for 17 years and it’s still holding up great.

Perfect for battery percussion
If you are a newbie or a veteran battery marcher, this is the drum pad for you. Each impact into the rubber is just loud enough to be audible yet will not disturb others close to you. I live in a house with 3 others and I use this pad 1-5 hours a day and I get no complaints. I have used this pad for about 3 months now on a consistent basis and have seen no damage to the rubber. This is a great pad that seems incredibly durable, whether I’m using thick wooded marching sticks or thin drum kit sticks, it feels as perfect as I would like. Please if you are a beginner or a pro drummer, Get This Pad.

Good quality
On the downside, there a Is no threads in the back to put this on a practice stand. Other than that its a good practice pad.

El practicador está muy bien terminado. Reduce bien el ruido, no se derrapa ni patina y por su peso tampoco brinca.
