A 34 year old hidden treasure
I remember hearing all through "82" "love will turn you around" Rogers. Had no idea it was written for this movie. Was pleasantly surprised @ the acting of Kenny Rogers. It Also features "Erin Gray" Silver Spoons fame, a pre- Outsiders, Diane Lane & I believe this was Anthony Michael hall's 1st. Picture even pre-83's Vacation& pre braces as he famously went on to wear in Vacation & Sixteen Candles. There were a couple other unknown children actors who did great but never went on to having substantial acting careers with the exception of Lane & Hall mainly known for his John Hughe's "brat pack" 80's movies. As the decade ended his star faded, despite being a unique personality & strong acting ability . Rogers is acceptable, but his niche is definitely singing. Lane has continued to act well into her 40's & early 50's. Gray although a good actress, was mainly a sitcom actress Buck Rogers with Gil Gerard, then most notably, "Silver Spoons" w/ Teen heart throb "Rick(y) Schroeder. A fun film to watch teaches the importance of being honest & being true to yourself .
