Bosch

I needed a screw extractor to remove a broken end of threaded tube from an electrical fitting. I couldn't apply heat for fear of damaging the decorative finish on the fitting, and the broken off end seemed to have been locked in with a thread lock compound. I bought a set of extractors because I wasn't sure exactly what size I needed and I bought Bosch on the basis of reputation and reviews. It worked fine. Next to largest size and a big tap wrench let me apply a fairly big torque and the broken tube came out cleanly. Slightly to my surprise it was also easy to get the broken bit off the tool - the profile of the tools seemed to both grip well and release easily. Job done!

I've had many easy outs, these ones work better than any others I've tried.

Fast delivery is the only good thing I can say about this purchase. The drills didn't want to drill the bolt I was trying to remove. Used a decent drill bit which worked fine. However, when I used the smallest extractor tool it snapped straight away. So increased the size of the hole to use the 2nd size up extractor, but the same thing happened. I paid extra for Bosch as I thought they would have been of good quality, how wrong was I. Returned for refund, not fit for purpose. Don't waste your time with these.

I didn’t get to try the extractors. The smaller drill bits broke the first time I used them. The drill bits left the tips embedded in the hex bolt meaning I couldn’t drill any further. I reamed out the top of the domed hex bolt and used a hammer and screw driver to tap it free.

Really surprised at how well this worked. Two small, seized screws from an oven came out really easily with this. Definitely recommend.

Made short work of removing a brass screw in an old tap which saved me having to buy a fitting.
