Olympic Shrug Bar

Great HEX bar for standing hack squats and shrugs, actually it is not a very important piece to buy because the regular bar or a pair of dumbells can be use to perform such exercises. I just need a little variance so I bought this bar. Honestly it is very well made and heavy. The only thing is the collar does not revolve. The wielded joints are not really polished, seems like zinc coated, but overall it is chrome finished. Worth the money, you can buy like a zinc coated for a lesser price but it darkens after a while from exposure and acid from the hands. Chrome finish is the way to go if you want to keep nice equipment.

The grips are not Olympic size - far too skinny. Also, the welding looks fairly cheap. I would not trust this above 300lbs or so. Spend the extra money and get something from Rogue fitness, or another brand that makes a true Olympic bar. Even better, get something that's rackable.

Great bar but not easy to load and unload.

I have been lifting weights for over 30 years. Most of that time was spent training with heavy weight. Consequently, lots of injuries. Different angles aggravate the aches and pains, some don't. I wanted to try this bar so that I could shrug heavier than I could with dumbbells but not have the bar in front of me. I like it. Well made. It does not have a second set of handles, so you start off down low. If you don't want to dead lift to start your set, this may not be for you unless you use stands. That said, so long as you lift with your legs and keep your feet relatively close together, you will be able to get the weight up without scraping your legs. Overall, I recommend the product. Only issue was packaging. Box was beat up, but can't blame the seller for that.

I recently began setting up a home gym for squats, deadlifts, bench and overhead presses. The OTB50 is solid and sturdy, zinc-plated steel just as advertised. I wanted a trap bar without the raised handles and the price was good. If the grips feel a little sharp and you don't prefer gloves, a few swipes with 180 grit sandpaper will do the trick.

Awesome and works great for doing shrug exercises, squats and deadlifts.

Just what I expected it to be, and then more. Beautiful tool to build my body.
