the switch is stiff to turn on and off. I bought it to replace a shop-vac on/off switch that was getting to be a hassle to turn on/off. This new switch works, but I felt I needed to reinforce the switch area with a small galvanized plate to avoid the tug on the switch from eventually deforming or tearing the tough plastic of the shop-vac.

Good high quality product with excellent contacts and action. A bargain at the price and a solid product unlike some of the similarly priced products produced in the far east

It's one of those products: Looks good, but is very rough in use compared to an industrial quality product. I'd not expect more than 1000 safe actuations. Update: Gives my LEDs a little spike of light when switching....so, if you have sensitive equipment, perhaps look elsewhere; also, hard to actually switch. Evidently made w/o QC.

Sifting through the rest of the garbage out there, I was happy to find these heavy duty mechanical switches for a project I am working on. It's pretty tough to find a motor rated switch at the retail level these days, particularity with AC rating. I really like how stiff the mechanism is with this switch as accidental engagement should be difficult. Full Spec sheet with schematic available on Gardner Benders website.
