This book is amazing! It has so many different patterns that I can make into blankets or sweaters. Looking forward to getting started.

1000 Japanese knitting and crochet stitches
Would have been nice to have written instructions in the book as well as the charts.

Good stitch source book
great stitches overall. They are similar to those we see in western crochet with stitch variants that make them appear more delicate or intricate. Most though are just graphs of what we know. Which is not a drawback for those who prefer visual learning or charts. There is a description of every stitch used in the charts the only drawbacks are that they are photgraphed on similar backgrounds leading you to believe the stitch is closer or rather...not lacey just because you cannot see through the stitch. Also the charts can be fussy.

Rxactly what. I wanted ! Patterns for a lot Of stitches! I am an ecperienced knitter but a beginner in crochet! Tjis is a huge help!!m. A bit confusing at first but clear once yoou learn the stmbols

Good reference for knitters and crocheters
I wanted to have a reference book, if I saw designs with unfamiliar stickers that I would like to replicate. This is a nice one, with colored pictures and clear instructions. I've learned the ripple stitch from this book. If you want more crochet variations of stiches, you might want to look further. It's majority knitting stitches. Not quite a substitute for a Grandma, but it was a good investment, for future creative endeavors.

An essential Guide
There are so many beautiful Japanese stitches, and this book covers them all (maybe not all?) and clearly shows how to perform them - in English! Beautiful printing and pictures - it's a must-have reference for every knitter!

This is an awesome book, full of loads of patterns. They're written in graphs, which is new to me, but once I got my head round them (and converted them to old school written patterns) it was simple. This is going to keep be quiet for a while.
