This is a very nice product. It is reasonably priced, nicely designed, easily installed, and functions well. My only suggestion would be to include slightly longer bolts and appropriate nuts. I did this on my own, and the holder is now solidly installed for the long haul. Such hardware could not possibly cost that much more, and would add little to the price. There would be no more reports of the holder detaching. Still, great product.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this paddle holder because it looked sturdier than two other types I've tried, both of which broke from transit-related traumas. This one is definitely more stoutly built, but I don't think it's bulletproof - it's still made of some sort of moderately rigid plastic, maybe polyethylene, and may prove to be too brittle for my type of abuse. That's one of the reasons for the one-star deduction. The other is that the carrier's two gripping points are close enough together for the paddle to wobble some, but I think its stability is still within workable limits. Good points: installation is simple and easy; the spring-type grasp of the carrier is tight enough to retain my 1 1/8" diameter paddle shaft; the elastic retaining band adds another level of security; insertion and removal of the paddle are simple. I'll have to see how this paddle holder survives my rough treatment, but at this point I recommend it.

They work great! Just install them where you are comfortable with the paddle and be careful not to break them off when loading and unloading kayak.

The paddle clip has good tension with my Werner Kalliste bent shaft normal diameter. I really like the additional bungee for more security. The only issue is the long hole for one of the screws. I placed the screw in the middle and it pulled through on the first use. Make sure to place the screw at one end or the other. I am definitely upset that I had to drill a second hole through my expensive kayak. I get why they designed it this way but it would be much better with just a standard hole.

Fit without drilling. Used to replace the original paddle holder that did not have a bungee strap lock on my Native Falcon 11 kayak.

The product itself is great and holds paddle securely when needed. I was missing the screws and plugs so contacted Amazon and was told to contact the company which was in the US. They said they’d send out the hardware. Waited over three weeks. In the meantime I needed one. Sent the one back and got another with the hardware this time. When I finally received the hardware, they only sent the screws and not the plugs. I had to call Amazon about the return and they finally accepted it.
