8-Compartment Mobile Storage Cabinet, Elementary

I purchased this shelf for my classroom library because I had a similar EC4R shelf (see photo). From the photos, I assumed that this shelf would be the exact same size as the first one, just one shelf taller, but that isn’t the case. It’s still fine for what I need, but the shelves on this one are shorter than the shelves on my first one. Assembly: It was moderately easy to assemble. I was able to build it all myself in just about an hour with two rebuilds because I screwed pieces together incorrectly. The parts were all labeled well, but the directions left a lot to the imagination. It was hard to decide which side was “up” on the shelves without the context of the entire shelf. For a first-timer, it definitely would have been tricky to put together. All the pilot holes and screws fit together and nicely. You needed a Philip’s head screwdriver for some parts, but the majority used the hex wrench that comes with it. It was relatively easy to get a super-tight fit on everything. The shelf is very sturdy and I (and the custodians!) enjoy that it is on wheels and easy to move. It will definitely hold a lot of books/ games/ blocks and it exactly what I was looking for in a new shelving unit.

Good fit and finish. Good quality birch plywood cut, routed, and drilled by a CNC in China (label says China). Should be in good condition if shipped properly. It is heavy. Shipping label says 55 lbs. Assembly: Make sure the unfinished (not rounded) edge of the vertical pieces face the back (where the face the channel is on for the horizontal pieces) or you'll be doing it over. I cut the allen wrench off with a cut off wheel and chucked into cordless drill. Made assembly faster. I also drilled the predrilled holes on the end grain 1/64 bigger as I worried about splitting the lamination as some pictures show. I ended up using 15/64 bit and driving the fasteners with the clutch set at 15 on my cordless Craftsman drill. Don't overdrive the cam parts into the nylon insert. I own their chair/desk set too and I scuffed it up with scotchbrite and put some more polyurethane on it. They should last a long time.

We have bought regular south shore shelving units over the years to hold my children's growing number of toys and I wish we had spent a little more and bought these. The other shelves have bowed over time with the weight of books in particular. This ECR4kids shelving is so sturdy it can take the weight and it looks great. It took some time to put together but that is because they are made well and are tough enough for the job. There are several different heights, widths and compartment sizes to meet the needs of what you are storing. I love this product and will be buying more to replace the beat up old shelves we've had for the past 5 years.

We’ve had the ECR4Kids 8-compartment shelves for about 2 years, and it has been absolutely perfect for our toddlers. The shelves are spacious and easy for little ones to reach, which makes cleanup time so much easier. The finish is beautiful, with smooth surfaces and rounded edges, so I feel confident letting my kids use it independently. The item arrived exactly as described in perfect condition, and the quality and durability have truly held up over time. This is hands down the best toddler shelf we’ve owned. Highly recommend for playrooms or classrooms! It is a great buy!

This product came well-packaged and on time. I ordered three of them for my classroom and was prepared for hours of construction upon arrival. However, the terrific quality of the product and the clear directions made putting these together a snap. Using an Allen Wrench was not my favorite part of putting things together, especially three of them, but all the pre-drilled holes lined up accordingly and the screws were easy to install. The bookcase is very sturdy and my custodian is thrilled that it has wheels to easily move out of the way for cleaning! Overall, a terrific investment for my classroom!

I’d give 0 stars if I could. I rarely write reviews and just deal with the issues. However, I purchased two of these cabinets last April because my wife was expecting twins. Both cabinets had seperate issues preventing successfully putting them together. The pre-drilled pilot holes do not line up, in different places, on both units. On what should be an extremely easy install, I took apart the cabinets numerous times until I had to pre-drill new holes. These are expensive cabinets and the price would make sense because they are made of good material; but only if there was better quality control to ensure they can actually be put together correctly. I didn’t get around to unboxing these until months after I purchased because we were preoccupied preparing for the multiplication of our family in other ways. So now im stuck with two overpriced, damaged bookshelves for our nursery. I personally am going to avoid purchasing anything manufactured from this company in the future.

Great toy shelf. Very pretty and very solid. We will have this for years and years to come, im sure. I will deff be ordering more matching shelves from this brand once we expand our toy and book collection as our daughter grows. I cant wait to have a play room filled with these awesome shelves and furniture. Well worth the price!!

This is the second time I have ordered from this brand and I absolutely love their products. The durability holds up against 16 toddlers day in and out in my preschool. The material is quality and they look professional in our classroom. Highly recommend these products!
