HD License Plate Camera

Works great so far after a year. The long wires provided were perfect for my Chevy Suburban. All power was taken from the existing trailer hitch wire harness. I powered it from the backup lights so it turns on only when I shift to reverse. That triggers the backup camera view mode on a Kenwood DMX8095 receiver in the dash. I use the Kenwood's backup guidelines because they are adjustable, leaving the camera's built-in guidelines turned off. Camera angle adjustment is adequate. The frame doesn't obstruct the license plate so no trouble with legality.

This GLK license plate backup camera works well—the picture is clear and the wide viewing angle makes parking and reversing a lot easier. The LED night vision is surprisingly good in low light, and it’s nice knowing it’s waterproof for all-weather use.

Super easy install and it works great for a few years but the camera picture will eventually wash out and you’ll have to replace it. I don’t know if all backup cameras suffer that issue but my first lasted 8 years & it’s replacement is doing a great job today.

Straight install. Nice metal frame. On my car when the doors are unlocked the LED on the camera turns on to illuminate the tailgate. love that feature.

Very high quality materials, solid construction, effortless installation and straight forward operation thanks to the very clearly written diagrams with instructions. Excellent HD clarity and video detail. The additional led back up lights is the cherry on top. Very happy with this purchase!

After having a bad experience with a different brand backup camera on Amazon getting this one was a nice change. Highly reccommend this camera setup. The Picture is perfect in day time and almost better at night with the led auto sensor lights. The frame is a nice solid aluminum frame that comes with an Allen wrench to tighten your set screws for the camera angle. Great deal. Pictures posted are at 8am and 8pm showing the daytime vs nighttime picture

I would give this zero stars if I could. The camera isn’t necessarily bad, but you need some sort of electrical experience to wire this up- IT IS NOT PLUG AND PLAY- and by the time you’re done installing it, there’s really no reason to uninstall it because of how much work it would take. The instructions are INCREDIBLY VAGUE (attached image for head units), you most likely will have to take apart your car to wire it, and the camera angle is not good. The lights on mine don’t even work, but as mentioned, it’s not worth uninstalling and my backup lights get the area bright enough.

I have this exact camera but by a different brand, for 5 years. I assumed it went out, but turned out to be the wiring in the head unit. It has been the most solid camera I have found for my work truck. It takes a constant beating and stays solid. The newer model is definitely more vibrant in resolution and color. I placed the old one on the front plate and now have front facing and backup cameras.
