Bordello of Blood: Wisecracking private eye Rafe Guttman (Dennis Miller) investigates some strange happenings at a titillating bordello on the edge of town. It seems owner Madam Lilith (Angie Everhart) and her luscious cohorts want more than money-they want blood! Soon Rafe finds himself up to his neck in a den of hungry vampiresses and battling the Reverend Jimmy Current (Chris Sarandon), a slick televangelist with an unstoppable talisman. Brimming with blood, lust and wicked laughs, this is one brothel you'll visit again and again! Demon Knight: A mysterious drifter known as Brayker (William Sadler) possesses the last of seven ancient keys that hold the power to stop the forces of darkness and protect all humanity from ultimate evil. But the human race is safe only so long as Brayker can evade the demonic Collector (Billy Zane), who has gathered the other six keys. Armed with automatic weapons, sacred blood and sadistic humor, Brayker and the strong-willed Jeryline (Jada Pinkett-Smith) must lead the inhabitants of a run-down hotel in a gruesome battle against the Collector and his evil horde of ghouls. Infested with a talented cast and thrilling special effects, Demon Knight delivers diabolical fun and a body of frights.Bonus Content:Disc 1 - Tales From the Crypt Presents: Bordello of Blood: Theatrical TrailerDisc 1 - Tales From the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight: Theatrical Trailer Review: Good Stuff - Solid collection. Worthy Just For Demon Knight
I just bought this pack for Demon Knight which I have seen before buying this pack and really enjoyed the first time viewing it. I figured why not get an extra horror film for about the same price as buying Demon Knight separately so I picked this up. Universal did a poor job on this set, it isn't a terrible DVD but compared to their great job on the The People Under the Stairs / Shocker Double Feature it is simply mediocre. This being said, both films are in Widescreen and even though they have no special features they do have good picture quality and also they are on a one-sided disc instead of a double-sided disc. Universal's other double feature DVD that I provided the link for was on two separate discs. Now lets get to the films. I won't go into the plots because you can just look them up, I am actually going to talk about the films themselves. Demon Knight: This is easily the best out of the pack and features some great practical effects and solid performances from everybody especially Billy Zane in a very energetic role and you can tell he was having fun. The plot was not weak in my opinion and made for a truly entertaining horror film, while not a perfect horror film by any means if you want to watch a very fun B horror movie than this one is for you. 4/5. Bordello of Blood: More of a comedy than horror, it is not a bad film and a pretty entertaining one but most of the cast seemed way over-the-top and while that did provide what I assume some unintentional laughter, it was overall disappointing. Dennis Miller is entertaining in his role and it was nice seeing Chris Sarandon in a post Fright Night role. Angie Everhart is smoking hot in her role but she is way overacting and Erika Eleniak is just plain miscast, she would have been better casted as one of the lead vampires. What really brings this film down is the horrible ending, it seemed that the film thought that it was clever and that it had tricked the audience, However, any horror fan(including myself) seen it miles away. 2.5/5. Overall, buy the set if you are interested or want to own any of these films because the picture quality is pretty good and you are getting the pack for a cheaper price than buying the films separately. Demon Knight is worth multiple re-watches not so much Bordello of Blood though.

This DVD features the first two Tales from the Crypt feature length films, Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995) and Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood (1996). Both films begin with the Crypt Keeper (John Kassir), just like in the TV series, introducing the audience to the creepy story that will follow, whilst offering his ghoulishly bad but amusing jokes. So begins the first tale ... Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight Demon Knight sees a world-weary ex-soldier, Frank Brayker (William Sadler), as the guardian of an ancient key that contains the power to unlock pure evil. He is on the road, always one step ahead of the Collector (Billy Zane), an equally sinister and charming character who will try and gain possession of the key at any cost. The Collector wants to bring about the apocalypse. Brayker stumbles across a boarding house somewhere in New Mexico, which is overseen by Irene (CCH Pounder) and contains an interesting and quirky array of tenants: Uncle Willy (Dick Miller); the young and beautiful Jeryline (Jada Pinkett), who works like Cinderella as a chamber maid, never given any peace, always wanting out of the entire town; Cordelia (Brenda Bakke), a prostitute who looks after the lonely tenants and guests who pass through; Roach (Thomas Hayden Church), a young rocker, who has a thing going with Cordelia; Wally (Charles Fleischer), a mailman by day and desperately in love with Cordelia; and Wanda (Sherrie Rose) and Homer (Tim De Zarn). With the Collector not far behind, Brayker must use the boarding house as a fortress and all within must fight the Collector and his Demons in order to save not only their own lives, but the world. Other characters include Sheriff Tupper (John Schuck) and Deputy Bob Martel (Gary Farmer). Demon Knight is directed by Ernest Dickerson (Surviving the Game) and features a soundtrack including Filter, Megadeath, Ministry, Pantera, Rollins Band, Sepultura; it is based on the EC Comics from the 1940s and 1950s, such as Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror, and is the prequel to Bordello of Blood. Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood Katherine Verdoux (Erika Eleniak) is a nice girl, who works for the falsely charming and devout Reverend Current; she is also the sister of wild and troublesome teenager, Caleb Verdoux (Corey Feldman). When Caleb goes missing one night, Katherine seeks out the service of private investigator, Rafe Guttman (Dennis Miller), who takes a shine to her and agrees to find the missing brother. During his investigations, he is led to the beautiful Lilith (Angie Everhart), a vampire who runs a bordello where she has ensnared the errant Caleb. Rafe and Katherine must battle Lilith and her hoard of bloodsuckers in order to save Caleb. Bordello of Blood also stars Aubrey Morris and William Sadler, who is unrecognizable during the opening sequence with the Crypt Keeper; it is directed by Gilbert Adler and is the sequel to Demon Knight. Bordello is more direct comedy than Demon Knight, the latter being a fairly dark film with shades of humour. Miller is the star here: love him or hate him, his ironic humour fits the role perfectly. There are no extra features on this double bill DVD but I found the sound and picture quality to be very good; a cheap way to own these two films, which often seem to be expensive singly. There is a third film, Tales from the Crypt: Ritual (2002) starring Jennifer Grey, Craig Sheffer, and Tim Curry.
