Doesn’t always return gate to center, but somewhat close.

For safety around pools, pets, kids, I’ve used these on my 4 foot gates for the last 30 or so years and I finally had to replace one. I highly recommend them in general. Like everything else, these are built more likely and those of prior generations but I think these are going to be just fine. The seller recommends two units on a 4 foot gate, and that may be overdoing it if you had a small kids, we’ll see, after everything’s broken in for a year two. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these.

I installed these on two high-traffic gates. They worked great at first, but on both gates the spring has grown weaker over time. In 5 months, the spring is so weak that the gate won’t close without help. I do not recommend for high-traffic areas.

Quite possibly one of the worst things I have put on my gate. This swing spring actually makes it more difficult to open and close the gate. Often, the gate gets stuck open, which is obviously the opposite of what we wanted to happen. We needed a bit of muscle to install the part, but it wasn't terribly difficult. I'm very disappointed I wasted $33 on this.

WE HAD TO RETURN THE FIRST ONE BECAUSE MY HUSBAND JUST "FIGURED" THE SIZE. WRONG! RETURN WAS AMAZINGLY EASY! SECOND ONE WAS THE RIGHT SIZE AND WAS ATTACHED TO THE FENCE IN MINUTES. COULDN'T FIND THIS ANYWHERE. . NOT EVEN THE LOCAL FENCE COMPANY. THANKS AGAIN AMAZON!

UPDATE: Closer worked well, but for only 1-1/2 years till it broke with light use. Company will not send replacement due to only having a 30 day replacement policy. Initial Review (5-Star) The gate closer feels solid and functions better than I was expecting. It was also easy to install with incredibly fast shipping. The gate closer works great in conjunction with the pool latch. I will continue to use Jake sales for all my “keep the Houdini huskies in the yard” needs!

The product does a very good job at closing the door. It is very easy to install. For the Durable part, I can't tell since it's only have been a day. Good product!

It is as described. However the hinge was very stif and it broke off during install. There are no instructions for installation and it had unwelcome bible references on the packaging.

Doesn't work great. Used it on a 4 foot long 5 foot tall gate. Doesn't completely close for either direction

Hinge quality and build look very sturdy. Easy to install and as another customer suggested door removal is easier. I tried it as they suggest and found that the door removal was easiest. Would recommend the product ven though it is a little pricier than others but seems mores resistant with better build quality.
