I needed to purchase a new lock and wanted to try a different style since I already had the typical popular Masterlock that everyone has. I wasn't able to choose the color but I was very happy with the silver one I received. It feels like it's good quality with easy to read magnified numbers. When you turn the dial, you can FEEL when you're on the number which is great. The diameter of the circular part of the lock (with the numbers) is a little on the bigger side but not too big in my opinion and the size of the shackle is the same diameter as the typical popular Masterlock ones. Even though you can't pick your own combo, the combo I received was not hard to remember. No issues with the lock opening and closing - smooth operation. Overall, very happy with the purchase and would purchase again if I needed another lock!

I had a problem with the Master brand on a lock I purchased 6 months ago. This lock is great. Feels solid. Works first time and every time. Looks great. Numbers easy to read without my reading glasses. I like that the lock is designed to scramble the mechanism upon locking (no need to spin the dial).

I use to love these locks as they last a long time but had to stop using them a while back when my cash kept disappearing everytime I went to the gym. At first I thought I was not keeping track of my spending then one day I got some money from the ATM right before a workout and went for coffee afterwards only to find my cash was gone again. A friend told me to watch a YouTube video to see how fast these locks could be overcome. I watched a video that showed a person taking a piece from an aluminum can and wedging it into the lock where it opens and watched the lock pop open. I have since used other Master locks which I have lost the keys to while working out, and other combination locks that broke after being dropped. When I seen this lock, it said the company had included an anti-shimming feature which was basically a few ridges which would snag a piece of aluminum shoved into the opening to push the locking mechanism open. Although I seen another video which showed this, too could be overcome no reasonably affordable lock is truly able to stop a determined thief. But for the price, and the new anti-shim feature I am back to using a lock that is slightly harder to break into. Apparently all these locks are for is to keep the honest people honest. And I no longer leave my wallet (or any valuables) in the locker.

Cheap lock. No keys! I haven't used one of these since high school. I forgot how great they are. The combination is taped to the back by the way, so you want to stash that someplace handy in case you forget. This is the standard Master Combo Lock you can get anywhere, but what makes it so great is how cheap it is. Now, speaking of "cheap," it is a bit chintzier than the one in the 1970's. It is not as smooth of a dial feel, and the plastic dial is a bit lower quality craftsmanship, but it does its job. This is great for locking garages, bikes, lockers, gates, and such. Medium security. It is not designed against FBI raids or hardened criminals, but as "locks keep honest men honest," this is an extremely inexpensive deterrent to people swiping your stuff. I had to get one for a swim test (locker use), and for six bucks (Amazon price) including shipping (Prime), this was too good of a deal to pass up. You can rely on this. It is "the brand" and the combination part is nice. Unlike past models, this does not come with an alternate "key unlocking feature" in the back. If you lose the combination you will need a Dremel to cut this thing.

I purchased this lock in the hopes of giving my teenage son the opportunity to lock his items while at school. After many locks that turned out to be broken due to defects, we finally ended up with this one that is the right size for the locked type. The wheel itself is functional and easy to understand. I like the added feature of using a blind sided function to block out the code from the side view. The weight is perfect and the lock seemed durable.
