Vinland Saga 3

This is the third volume in the Vinland Saga Omnibus series. It was just as wonderful was earlier books in this series. The story is so epic and just draws the reader in and the illustration is absolutely stunning. Askeladd has taken Prince Canute and gone deep behind enemy territory. Thorfinn is given the task of protecting the Prince. However finally the inevitable happens and the war hungry Thorkill catches up with Askeladd’s army. Thorkill wants to finish his fight with Thorfinn once and for all. The fight scenes are epic and the story is absolutely amazing. This book focuses a lot on Askeladd and Thorfinn. We also learn a lot more about the history between Thorfinn’s father and Thorkell. Even more touching is the story of the unwanted Prince Canute. Prince Canute is a soft-spoken boy who had a gentle upraising not suited for all this war. However as events unravel we finally get to see the true metal within Prince Canute. I continue to enjoy the summaries between chapters that show Thorfinn’s journey so far and the small comments about how this story follows the history of that time period. It’s all incredibly interesting. The illustration remains top notch. There is just so much beautiful detail in this book. It is a pleasure to look at and to read. Overall an absolutely fantastic addition to the Vinland Saga series. I highly recommend this series to all manga fans out there. This has been an incredibly well done epic historical manga with engaging characters, awesome action, beautiful illustration, and an epic story too! It’s just fantastic and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series!

Wow love the story, characters, there isn't one thing I don't like about this story. The art, literally everything works and when you come across stories like these, it's rare and amazing to find them and love being one of the lucky people who've had the pleasure and honor to read them.

It came undamaged , it has good detail, it has amazing value (12$ at the time) its about 2.5 times thicker than the usual small manga size and it's a hard cover for only 2 dollars more it also has a great story and it's build quality is amazing almost as good as it can get, it also has some colored pages as a bonus

Loving the series and believe that it is underrated in terms of popularity. Same as my last reviews the story is well paced making it an enjoyable read.

All I can say is wow. The artwork, story and characters are all amazing. I've got to say, Thorkell the Tall has to be one of the more memorable characters I've had the the pleasure reading, in recent memory. All in all, just an awesome read from start to finish.

This has to be one of the best manga ever! Makoto Yukimura is brilliant with this manga. Beautifully drawn, amazing fighting scenes and intense story line. To me this manga equals Naoki Urasawa's Monster or even 20th Century Boys. This is one you need to have I'm your collection. I'm really looking forward to Vinland Saga: book four.

A really good volume and great follow up to volume 2. Some really great action sets, Thorkell continues to shine as a great character. Askeladd is (the unofficial main character so far in this series so far) is still great as well. Yet we witness the worst philosophy on life, death and love I think I have ever heard or read in all my years. And the character trigger it causes is the biggest sudden 180 I can ever remember reading. Vinland Saga is a really good series and I do recommend it if you are a lover of Historical fiction there are some narrative flaws but it is still a really good series.
