Richard Scarry's Best Storybook Ever

There is so much in the vintage classic. My son Learned so many words, as a one year old. As he got older he learned letters. There are a variety of stories for all age children here. A great baby gift!

Buy it now. Nursery rhymes, stories, great illustrations, ABCs- true variety and GREAT for teaching. If I could only have ONE BOOK for kids under 5- this is it.

Bought this for a library donation. I loved reading Richard Scarry books as a kid. The illustrations are so whimsical & colorful. This big book can keep a child's interest for a long time. Great for generations to come.

I vividly remember my parents reading to me from this book when I was really little, and I still recall how much I loved the pictures, and the fact that almost every item is labeled. In my pre-reading mind, I used to delight in knowing that the jumble of letters next to each "thing" (be it a hat, a book, a nose, etc.) revealed the item's name, and this truly excited me to learn to read. I don't know what happened to that book I had as a child, so I was thrilled to find this on Amazon for a great price. Now that I have a daughter of my own, who is 19 months, this will make a perfect Christmas present for her. She is not quite at the age where she has the patience to sit down and be read to a story book with an actual plot (even a really basic one), but if I simply point to objects in a book and tell her what they are, she's all ears. So Richard Scarry seems like a great book to get her started on. This is also a really nice hardcover with sturdy pages, so it's a great gift book for others. (I gifted one to my 3-year-old goddaughter as well!).

This book is by far my favorite children's book! I purchased for my 2 year old & we both enjoy it. I am very happy with the variety of topics, stories, & rhymes in this book. The artwork is beautiful, if you are a fan of Richard Scarry, the artwork will not disappoint! There's really cute stories about the seasons & each month of the year (among others). Scattered throughout are Mother Goose rhymes, the typical picture dictionary pages that RS is known for like daily routine, on the farm, etc. Attached is a picture example of such pages. I grew up on Richard Scarry books & it is so much fun to see my daughter discovering him as well. I hope she has great memories of these books/stories as I do.

Superbe livre! Les illustrations vintage sont vraiment belles. Il est vraiment épais, on y trouve pleins de jolies petites histoires mais aussi des pages pour apprendre du vocabulaire sur divers thèmes ( pièces de la maison, les couleurs, les chiffres, les jouets...)

I grew up with this book and I'm glad to find a new edition to share with my little boy. So many stories will last little ones throughout their childhood.

Beautiful book with lots of wonderful illustrations and vocabulary. I love that it has classic nursery rhymes. We have read some stories and they are short and more descriptive of the illustrations, numbers or letters they present. I think this could be very helpful for babies and toddlers but for my preschooler who is used to longer texts and more complex storylines, this doesn't seem to be a book to gravitate to. We love the idea of exploring the vocabulary once my child starts reading because there are plenty of new words for us to learn and practice, kind of like a picture dictionary which is great for us trying to learn both English and Spanish.
