As I have changed seasons of life (as well as my parents), we think of things differently. It is the “what if” and ease of life. There are (or will be) papers that you need quick access to in your future. The how to quickly navigate is important. I bought this one for my parents which has all required documentation “when”. While my normal safe is fine, it isn't portable. I like that I can quickly grab. I like the 4” plus gusset that allows for notebooks. I like the durable zipper and strong velcro flap. I like the overall size! I like that it has fire protectant and I pray that I never need to validate that this feature works. This is perfect for our needs!

We wanted a safe place to keep important documents in one central location so they would be easy to find in case of emergency. But we had to have something lightweight and portable. We actually ordered three different bags, and there was no contest. The CIOEY won, hands down! The spacious main compartment has a very generous opening, so it's easy to put in a fat accordian folder. This was not possible with others we looked at. That compartment zips securely. Then on the outside, there's a really large flap that starts at the top back, completely covers the top, and then Velcros shut with a strip that's 2.5 inches wide and feels very secure. I've had no reason to test whether it's really fireproof and waterproof (thank goodness!), but for the money, we are very satisfied. I went ahead and gave it 5 stars because I have no reason to doubt it, but I have to be honest and say we really haven't had it long enough to truly rate its water resistance and durability. I do believe it's very sturdy, however.

Zipper is a little stiff but it is a good size to put a notebook full of papers in and close it up.

I ordered two of these for myself and one as a Christmas gift for my daughter. The video on amazon.com shows a blow torch being directed onto the bag (rated to withstand 2,000 degrees F without damage) as well as it being submerged in water and the bag and contents were not damaged---2,000 degrees F seems to be the highest fireproofing available on such bags on the market. It is very well made with a strong double zipper to close the interior and then an outer flap with strong hook and loop for a two layer protection from fire and water. The company offered me a gift with the purchase (a small cash bag or lock to use locking the two zippers together) and I chose the cash bag). It comes with a strong shoulder strap that you can attach to the bag as well as having a handle on top of the bag for convenience in carrying or moving the bag. Since the bag is airtight when correctly closed I will use silica crystal packs to keep moisture or oxidation from ruining the contents I place in the bag. I intend to keep valuables and not just documents in these bags and I can order a lock to secure the two inner zippers together for additional security if needed in the future. This is a very good price for fire and water protection of valuables you keep at home. This is an excellent product and a good value for the money; I recommend it highly.
