MGI SpeedWare 4-Position Universal Ignition Key Switch for 12V Car, Truck, Tractor, Trailer, Forklift - Acc/Off/IGN/(Start)

I used this switch to replace a worn ignition on an older machine and it worked out great. The housing feels sturdy and the key turns with a smooth click at each position. The terminals are clearly marked which makes wiring simple even if you are swapping it into something that did not have the same layout. Once installed the switch powered everything the way it should and the start position engaged cleanly without sticking. The keys fit tight with no wobble and the switch holds up well to repeated use. I tested it through all four positions and every circuit made contact the way it was supposed to. For the price this is a dependable option for anything that needs a basic ignition setup whether it is a mower, tractor, or small equipment project. It is a straightforward part that does its job without fuss and feels like it will last.

I have an old hot rod truck with a steering column from the 70s. When you turn the key, it should cause one gear to turn another, moving a lever further down the column. However, the teeth on one or both of the gears are rounded and it doesn't like to start. Replacing them is not an easy task so I just moved the whole key switch to the dash. This ignition switch is clearly labeled and does exactly what it should. They sell fancy kits that are plug and play but this was a more economically feasible option. My dash had an existing hole and this fit perfectly without any further cutting and grinding. Concerning durability, it has lasted several days so far so I guess that's good.

Easy to install in good little ignition switch works great

Parked my car and suddenly had a no start issue on my rat rod and I knew it was going to be one of two things = The ignition switch or the starter solenoid... Both were ancient and I had two days before street cleaning to get her fixed and move her as to not her ticketed (NYC) and considering the price of both of them together was like less than $50 I just ordered them both up. The switch works fine and my car fired right up and definitely is a better functioning switch than the one I had before. It feels a little flimsy in the hand though compared to the one that I had in the car. It could have been a little beefier/sturdy but nonetheless it works well...

This is not keyed the same as any golf cart so u have a different cut key so u have a better chance that ur cart won’t get stolen

Inexpensive replacement switch. Works well on my IH Cub tractor. Easy to install. I did not need or use the accessory connection of the switch.

This part was missing the 4 nuts that hold the wires and the top bonnet nut that holds the key switch in place. Not terrible because it was a direct replacement for the switch I was replacing, so it installed easily, until I lost the old bonnet nut. I'm sure it fell down somewhere in the tractor, but that's on me. My old switch had a threaded backing nut but this one has a stamped nut. The problem is that the base is some type of soft pot metal and the stamped nut shaves off the thread metal when it goes on and off. Some buyers of this item reported that their bonnet nut stripped easily and that stamped backing nut could be the reason. The switch functions perfectly and I love the big key! I guess I will just use the stamped backing not as the top bonnet nut and be on my way!
