Its a book every Tamil must read to know their proper history and why Tamilnadu is unique in a country plagued by inhuman practices and superstitions justified by religion. His ideas are post-modern and are still not completely accepted by the majority of the present Tamil society (which is sad). Can't imagine the state of Tamilnadu without him. Author R.Muthukumar presents historical events that shaped the Dravidian movement and some insights into Thandai Periyar's life (with traces of hero worship). This is one good book that gives a biographical summary of Thandhai Periyar. Also includes bits about other influential leaders like Rajaji, Arignar Annai, Karmaveerar Kaamarajar and M.Karunanidhi.
