This marker is really effective in covering those pesky gray hairs that reappear as early as two-three weeks after my hair is dyed and blonde highlights added. It enables me to push back a visit to the beauty shop by 4-6 weeks. The hardest place to use it is at my temples, as it's easy to end up with some of it on your face. Having used this product for years (tried others, too, but this is my favorite), two things can help if you accidentally get color on your face. First, have a cotton swab at hand to quickly remove the color while wet. Also, if your hands are unsteady or vision issues make root touchup right at the hairline challenging, use a preventive product (like Repelle Professional Haircolor Stain Shield made by Colortrak) which is about the size of chapstick and available from Amazon or a local beauty supply store. As for TouchBack, as long as you keep the cap on tight, it lasts a very long time. My last Light Brown marker was viable for about a year, as I use it only to cover gray at temples and hairline. Blends in beautifully with my natural medium brown hair with ash blonde highlights.

This came leaking with dye. It’s impossible not to stain my scalp when using it.

Works great for quick touch ups. If it gets on your skin, it will come off with water on a tissue. I do wish it would last longer as the "pen" starts to lose it's "ink." This will come off on clothes and hands until it dries. Does not come off on a pillowcase as long as you let it dry. BUT... if you like to put a little water on your hair to refresh your curls, remember that this WILL come off on a towel! Eeeekkkk!

I have been using this product for over 10 years, and I truly love it. It has been a constant in my routine, reliable, high quality, and unlike anything else on the market.

Covers roots for the most part but a little hard to put on without it coloring your scalp.

If you can color with a marker and hold a comb, this is for you. So easy to use! Fabulous match to my hair color (I used medium brown) and not messy in the slightest. I had never purchased a home hair color product before but I decided to try this based on Allure (have had good luck with their recommendations in the past) and customer reviews. I put off using it, even after purchase, bcz I was so nervous it would look like I took a Sharpie marker to my hair and my hairline would be a mess. I shouldn't have waited. Granted, I have only used this on the temples/sideburns grays that I get and not the root grays on my scalp, but honestly, I think I would try that too if in the future my coloring appts got too frequent for my budget. In any case, if you are struggling with face framing grays that pop up before your next salon appt, I would highly recommend this product. *Note: this is a wash-it-out product so if you wash your hair daily you might find this product a bit of a time-taker.
